As we race toward August, Footballguys.com will examine one team per weekday with our quick-hitting Team Sleepers feature. These players might not be deep sleepers, but we will be highlighting players our staff thinks will surprise this year and outperform their average draft position (ADP).

This is a weekday series that will stretch through August 1. If you like this and want another, come back the next workday. Another will be here.

Please note that our staff has identified the players listed below. The official Footballguys stance for every Giant can be found on our projections page.

Sleepers on the New York Giants

Reasons RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. Could Be a Sleeper

  • Jason Wood: Tracy was revelatory last year, given the horrific supporting conditions, and should be viewed as a compelling every-week starter with upside. But drafters are treating him like the 1b to Cam Skattebo's 1a.
  • Jeff Haseley: People are enamored with Cam Skattebo and forgetting about what Tracy did last year and what he brings to the table.
  • Phil Alexander: The Giants offense is starved for playmakers outside of Malik Nabers and can't afford to take Tracy's explosiveness off the field in favor of Cam Skattebo's grit.
  • David Zacharias: Rookie Skattebo lurks, but Tracy is the better pass-catcher, and the Giants will need to throw.
  • Craig Lakins: With the arrival of Cam Skattebo, Tracy's perceived value has fallen. After netting more than 1,000 yards from scrimmage in 2024, his role should be secure and he's being drafted too low for the upcoming season.

Reasons WR Wan'Dale Robinson Could Be a Sleeper

  • Jeff Blaylock: Robinson joined Malik Nabers in becoming the first duo in Giants' history with at least 90 receptions each. How many other WR2s had 90 receptions last season?
  • Andy Hicks: Good luck finding guys who will approach 100 receptions when he is available. Yardage and touchdowns may lack, but points matter.
  • Jeff Bell: Robinson should be locked into a Top 2 target-earning role in this receiver rotation. Robinson finished as WR41 in 2024, has an upgraded QB situation, and is going off the board as WR67.

Reasons TE Theo Johnson Could Be a Sleeper

  • Maurile Tremblay: His 4.5?speed and every-down capacity give him under-the-radar upside in Daboll's scheme.
  • Hutchinson Brown: The Penn State product flashed as a rookie last season, and the #2 role in New York is still wide open.

Reasons RB Cam Skattebo Could Be a Sleeper

  • Julia Papworth: I am reminded daily that this is Tyrone Tracy Jr.'s backfield, but remember, in 2024, Tracy had more weeks outside of the top 20 than he did inside. In addition, older Day 3 drafted running backs typically don't find success in fantasy in the long run, and I think Skattebo is a couple of big games away from taking the RB1 spot.
  • Ben Cummins: Skattebo is 219 pounds and just turned 338 touches into 2,316 total yards and 24 touchdowns last season. He is the favorite to be the lead running back for the Giants this year, but isn't being drafted like it.

Reason CB Dru Phillips Could Be a Sleeper

  • Kyle Bellefeuil: After a promising rookie season playing in the slot for the Giants' defense in 2024, Phillips is a sneaky good late-round pick in true-position or CB-required IDP formats.

Reason DT Dexter Lawrence II Could Be a Sleeper

  • Tripp Brebner: How is it that the best player at his position league-wide can play in New York without being appreciated?
