Top 10 DraftKings DFS Plays for NFL Week 3

Two weeks of real data are in the books now, and the picture at a lot of positions is starting to sharpen up. Below are 10 plays worth building around on this week's main slate, broken down by position with the reasoning behind each one.

Quarterback

Jameis Winston, New York Giants, $4,000 (vs. Tennessee)

Winston is the rock bottom priced quarterback on the entire slate, and that price tag alone makes him worth a look in tournament lineups. The Giants are adjusting their offense around his skill set rather than Jaxson Dart's mobility, which means leaning more heavily on Winston's arm to push the ball downfield. He's about as low owned as a starting quarterback gets this week, and at $4,000 he frees up significant salary to spend at the more expensive positions.

Keep an eye on the weather, it continues to deteriorate. Winston's roster percentage will likely fall because of this, which could create an opportunity in GPP's. However, in cash games he's likely an avoid because of that weather situation. 

Kyler Murray, Minnesota Vikings, $5,100 (at Tampa Bay)

Murray is the value option at quarterback behind the top tier this week. Minnesota's passing game has attacked single high coverage at one of the highest rates in the league over the last three seasons, and Tampa Bay leans on that exact look more than almost any other defense. That combination of scheme fit and a low price point makes Murray an efficient way to get exposure to Justin Jefferson and this Vikings passing attack without paying up at the position.

Running Back

Ken Walker III III, Kansas City Chiefs, $7,400 (at Miami)

Walker has been the most productive running back in the league through two weeks, piling up an NFL high 290 rushing yards on 47 carries while adding nine catches for 79 yards and scoring both on the ground and through the air. His Week 2 workload alone, 24 carries and six catches for 30 total touches, shows how deeply involved he's become in Kansas City's offense. Miami has allowed the second most fantasy points to running backs this season, and with the Chiefs installed as sizable favorites and some rain in the forecast, Walker is set up for another heavy workload. He's the chalk play of the week at the position, but the volume more than earns it.

James Cook III, Buffalo Bills, $6,900 (vs. L.A. Chargers)

Cook remains a strong source of touches in an explosive Buffalo offense, and he won't carry anywhere near the ownership that Gibbs or Walker will this week. He's shown the ability to break a slate open on volume alone in the past, and Buffalo's implied team total ranks among the higher marks on the board this week, giving Cook real touchdown equity to go with his workload.
