IDP News: DT Quinnen Williams, Dallas
Quinnen Williams signs a three-year, $105.9 million extension with Dallas.
Quinnen Williams gets the bag, and the Cowboys keep one of their key defensive pieces up front. Dallas acquired Williams from the Jets last year, giving up a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick, and former 2023 first-round defensive tackle Mazi Smith. Williams hasn't quite hit the mark in the sack column, as many IDP gamers had hoped, since his stellar 12-sack season in 2022. He notched just two-and-a-half last season. However, new defensive coordinator Christian Parker's attacking front should be a nice fit for Williams to get back to creating havoc behind the line. Dallas believes so, given that kind of payday. Williams is due for a bounce-back campaign in the splash play department and makes for a solid DT1 target in IDP true-position.
IDP News: LB Henry To'oTo'o, Houston
Houston signs Henry To'oTo'o to a two-year, $16 million extension.
To'oTo'o was set to enter the season on the final year of his rookie deal. Now, he's set to be a Texan for at least the next three years. Last season, To'oTo'o played all 17 games (14 starts), holding a 79% snap share (818 defensive snaps), and producing 95 tackles (42 solos), 9 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. With his new deal, To'oTo'o should once again slide in as the team's LB2 alongside Azeez Al-Shaair. To'oTo'o isn't a flashy IDP producer but should hover around an 80% snap share as he has the past two seasons, making him useful in deeper IDP leagues.
IDP News: EDGE Micah Parsons, Green Bay
Micah Parsons says Week 6 might be his "most optimistic" return target.
We talked about when Parsons might return in the second edition of this article series. Now, he himself has stated that the Week 6 matchup against his former employer, the Dallas Cowboys, would be his "most optimistic" timeline. The news isn't overly surprising given Green Bay's brass takes a conservative approach with injuries and the team's massive four-year, $186 million investment in the star pass rusher. Currently, Parsons has an ED20 ADP via The IDP Show. In selecting Parsons, building an edge unit with enough depth to hold down the fort will be important for IDP gamers as they wait for his return and a potential late-season flurry from the star pass rusher.
