Welcome, everyone, to the first edition of the 2026 IDP Stock Market. Each week, we'll cover the trending individual defensive players across the fantasy landscape. Twelve names every time: the Fortune Five, the Falling Four, and the Premiere Pennies. The ones climbing, the ones slipping, and the cheap tickets that can turn into real money if you buy them before the rest of the market catches on. This is a dynamic market for a dynamic league. When a player produces, he'll get his due. When he falters, the correction will be swift and firm. No nostalgia. No reputation protection. Just the tape, the snaps, and the points. It's finally back. (R) LB Josiah Trotter: Call it rookie fever if you want. I don't care. What Trotter just did in Game 1 of his NFL career is the kind of debut that forces you to pay attention.  Eleven tackles. Two tackles for loss. A sack. A pick-six. Welcome to the league. The box score was loud. The snaps were louder. Trotter played 91 percent of the defensive snaps, second at the position only to Alex Anzalone, and crushed the role battle on the field: 58 snaps to SirVocea Dennis' five. That is not a cameo. That is a job. There is a clear every-down path here, and he already showed the explosion that makes IDP managers lose sleep in a good way. Now we pump the brakes on the rest of it. He is not walking into a 180-tackle, 17-sack season and becoming the best player in the league off one Sunday. That is not how this market works. What he is: the most exciting tape of Week 1, especially for a player who entered the year with less hype than the other headliners at the position. Buy the role. Bank the splash. Don't price him like a finished product after one game.

(R) LB Jacob Rodriguez: The expectations were heavy. Rodriguez met them on night one. Fourteen tackles in your NFL debut is not a participation trophy. That is a statement. Miami cut Tyrel Dodson after spending a second-round pick on Rodriguez and still paid IDP royalty Jordyn Brooks long-term money. The plan was obvious: Brooks as the veteran anchor, Rodriguez as the complement. In Week 1, the rookie outproduced the legend. Do not get drunk on one box score. Week 1 is the easiest week to overreact and the dumbest week to treat like a finished product. The league is still finding its footing. What is not in dispute: Rodriguez already has a real job on a defense that should stay on the field. Role plus volume is how you build a weekly starter. The hype was real. So was the usage.

DT Zach Allen: Defensive tackle is the least sexy seat on an IDP roster until somebody hijacks the box score. Allen is that guy. He is a foundational starter at a position that usually lives in the waiver-wire blender. Last year got labeled a "down" season because the tackle volume slipped. Fair note. Also fair: a six-game sack streak and six passes defended, the second-highest total of his career. The splash never left. The floor just got quieter. Then Monday night happened against Kansas City. Five tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks. Divisional game. Prime time. No ambiguity. Pick your poison. If you build lines for big-play upside, Allen just reminded you why he belongs in the lineup. If you only trust tackle volume, he just handed you a reason to make room anyway. Volatile position. Stable starter. That is why he is in the Fortune Five.

EDGE Aidan Hutchinson: When Hutchinson is healthy, this is not a debate. He is one of the best IDPs in the game. Last season was the first full sample since 2023: 54 tackles and 14.5 sacks. That is set-and-forget production. He is a top-three dynasty edge rusher, and if you want to argue it, Week 1 is a bad place to start. Five tackles and two sacks to open the year is as clean as it gets. This is not a trade chip, even if you are rebuilding. You do not sell the player who gives you a weekly floor and sack upside in the same jersey. If the goal is a roster that lasts and still punches, you build around this profile.

(R) LB Anthony Hill Jr.: Talk about coming out of nowhere. Cedric Gray sits, Hill steps in, and the box score explodes: 16 total tackles in Game 1. Fourteen of those were assists, so the fantasy points are not as pretty as the raw number. Fine. We still chase the volume first. Some people liked the prospect. Nobody had this in the Week 1 forecast. I do not think he carves into Gray's job when Gray is healthy. I do think Cody Barton is the snap pool that can shrink. That is the realistic path. However it shakes out, a rookie clearing 15 tackles is worth celebrating. Hill may have been a fill-in on Sunday. A defensive head coach like Robert Saleh does not ignore a performance like that. Role TBD. Tape filed. Stock up.
