Scouting Report
Carson Beck spent six years in college football. He was a two-sport athlete in high school and originally committed to Florida to play baseball. Beck was Mr. Football Florida as a junior, and committed to Alabama before flipping to Georgia to play football as a senior. He redshirted as a freshman, then was the backup for two years before finally playing as a redshirt junior. He lit it up, but decided to return to Georgia for 2024 instead of declaring for the draft. After 2024, he entered the transfer portal and helped Miami on its College Football Playoff run. Beck has regressed over the past three seasons. He sustained a UCL injury that appears to have sapped some of his ability to drive the ball deep down the field.
Beck can run an NFL-style offense if kept clean, but his decision-making under pressure has resulted in some rough turnovers. He's not a rushing threat in the NFL and will have to win from the pocket. He can hit tight windows inside the numbers and within 20 yards, and he makes most of his money in those areas of the field. Beck is a system-dependent quarterback who can perform well in the right environment, but cannot elevate an offense that lacks weapons or protection.
Rundown
Beck has plenty of starting experience and all of the measurables of an NFL quarterback, but has put enough on tape that he profiles best as a high-level backup.
