Cracking FanDuel - Week 9

Footballguys Staff's Cracking FanDuel - Week 9 Footballguys Staff Published 11/02/2013

Footballguys has partnered with FanDuel and as part of that deal, I will be penning a weekly piece that tries to cover some of the finer points on beating their contests. This article appears on Saturdays and does not include the early Thursday game.

My approach to FanDuel's Daily Games

In salary cap games where other companies are determining prices, I like to see where their thoughts differ substantially from my projections. My value chart below matches up my projections against FanDuel's prices:

Some explanation of my Excel manipulation is in order:

  • Everything is sorted by position
  • I have converted my projections to FanDuel Fantasy Points. These figures appear in the FP column.
  • The Price column reflects FanDuel's Week 9 Price
  • The Price per FP column reflects the cost per projected fantasy point (the lower the value the better).
  • I have highlighted player's names (in green) that should be strong considerations for your lineups. They generally reflect the most bang for the buck at their respective positions. Players in yellow also are worth consideration when building your roster.

General Thoughts

Situations that stand out to me this week.

  • With no Denver or Jacksonville games, I expect the scoring to be down a bit this week.
  • With the loss of some of their WRs and TE, Green Bay has went to more of a rushing attack over the last few weeks. They draw a favorable matchup against Chicago making Eddie Lacy a must start this week.
  • Zac Stacy is a guy to watch if Darryl Richardson scratches and he looks OK in warmups. He has a great matchup and is super cheap this week.
  • The Defenses of Seattle and Kansas City are not cheap, but they might be hard to fade as they should score double digits this week.

Sample $60K Roster - Projected Points = 133.2

  • QB Terrelle Pryor, Oak - $7,300
  • RB Jamaal Charles, KC - $9,200
  • RB Eddie Lacy, GB - $6,800
  • TE Jordan Reed, Was - $5,600
  • WR Jordy Nelson, GB - $7,800
  • WR T.Y Hilton, Ind - $6,000
  • WR Keenan Allen, SD - $6,000
  • TD Seattle, Sea - $6,300
  • PK Garrett Hartley, NO - $5,000

Sample $55K Roster - Projected Points = 125.7

  • QB Terrelle Pryor, Oak - $7,300
  • RB Zac Stacy, StL - $5,800
  • RB Eddie Lacy, GB - $6,800
  • TE Jordan Reed, Was - $5,600
  • WR Jordy Nelson, GB - $7,800
  • WR T.Y Hilton, Ind - $6,000
  • WR Denarius Moore, Oak - $6,000
  • TD Kansas City - $5,800
