Scouting Report

Kevin Coleman Jr. does not stay in one place long. Coleman was the "other" receiver Deion Sanders landed, along with Travis Hunter, at Jackson State in a 2022 recruiting coup as the WR11 in the class. Sanders and Hunter left for Colorado following that season, while Coleman moved on to Louisville. That was the first of three moves. Coleman may be the only player in NCAA history to play for four different teams over a four-year career. His first two moves were attempts to find the best opportunity, but his move to Missouri allowed him to finish his career close to home as a St. Louis high school legend. Coleman has drawn praise at the Senior Bowl for his ability to generate separation.

Coleman's frequent relocations helped develop a diverse skill set and offensive understanding. His role in Mississippi State's offense featured heavy usage in the short and intermediate areas. In Missouri, he adapted to more vertical routes or schemed run-and-screen game opportunities. He is a diverse player who possesses the quickness and guile to manipulate defenders. Coleman has a chance to hear his name on Day 2 of the draft as he fits the modern NFL trend toward a shorter passing game.

Rundown

Coleman may be the only player in NCAA history to play four years for four different schools. He was a high-level recruit who has rounded into an elite separator and a player to monitor.
