Sam Darnold’s contract is basically year-to-year, and he’ll miss the comfortable surroundings in Minnesota. A poor start could mean we see Milroe, whose rushing gives him instant QB1 upside.

Milroe is the most compelling QB talent from the 2025 NFL Draft class. He isn't the most refined passer of the group, but his skills at processing information and manipulating coverage from a muddy pocket are things that are almost impossible to teach at this level and most top prospects don't learn if they lack it. 

Combine this with his arm, compact release, and the best running skills at the position to hit the league since Lamar Jackson, and Milroe could have a situational role that leads to some fantasy value in isolated matchups this year. 

He'll likely remain a situational QB this year, even if Sam Darnold gets hurt. You'll see him paired with Drew Lock.
