Mike Gesicki

We all know Cincinnati love to throw the ball. Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are elite receivers in the league so get the lion’s share. The third receiver here will be fantasy-relevant, especially if he is a Tight End. Like Mike Gesicki. Outside his season in New England and his debut year with the Dolphins, Gesicki has always been good for 600 yards and half a dozen touchdowns. He won’t be a guy you rely on as your starter, but he is an excellent option to stream or use if you leave it too long to fill this position. A few more touchdowns than last year will see Gesicki as a starting fantasy tight end. Obviously, due to game scripts and less fluent passing occasionally, he will have poor games. Six of his 17 games last year had two receptions or less, including two with zero. Teaming him up with another similar guy like Zach Ertz, Pat Freiermuth or Dallas Goedert should result in strong production at the tight-end position, without paying an elite price.

Non-factor in games Chase and Higgins both played. Noah Fant signing is not a death knell for his value, but won't help with consistency either. 

Gesicki told the media that he's a year wiser in the Bengals system and implied it should make him more productive. It might make Gesicki more efficient.

Last year's 78 percent catch rate is solid for a starting tight end but a 10-yard per catch average could be better, depending on the design of the offense and the options Gesicki might have to create bigger plays. 

Don't count on Gesicki delivering more than 900 yards and 5 scores in a season and if he earns this much, something went unbelievably right (6,000 yards for Joe Burrow) or unbelievably wrong (multiple starters out for the year) in Cincinnati. 

6'5.4" height gives Joe Burrow a tall target area. Has found a home with the Bengals, who used him like the Dolphins did early on in his NFL career. Finished third on the Bengals in targets (83), catches (65), and receiving yards (665) last year, just behind Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Five targets per game last season and finished fourth on the team in red zone targets. Cincinnati's pass rate is appealing. Gesicki's role is modest.
