Gadsden has the physical traits to create mismatches at the second level.

He's averaging more yards per game than any Chargers' tight end since Antonio Gates in 2009. He led all TEs in routes run in Weeks 6 to 8, emphatically demonstrating his increasing role in the offense. He may see a production dip once the top RBs return, but that's just going to be a speed bump on his way to a productive career.

Since Gadsden became a full-time player, let's play a quick game. Who has the most receptions among tight ends? Gadsden. Who has the most yards among tight ends? Gadsden by 65. Who has the most explosive plays? Gadsden again. It's hard to put the toothpaste back into the tube once it's out, and in a small sample size, Gadsden has solidified himself as a top receiving option in a Justin Herbert offense. It's better to bet on week-winning upside in a position with so few players who offer that kind of value.
