Hockenson is a volatile fantasy prospect this year. While he should be fully healthy after rehabbing his ACL tear in 2024-25, he's the third option in this passing game, on paper.
In reality, that pecking order might look significant worse or significantly better with Kyler Murray under center. Only once in Murray's NFL career has he supported more than one fantasy starter in his receiving corps.
Tre McBride told the media this offseason that one of the reasons Marvin Harrison saw fewer targets from Murray is that Murray often skipped Harrison as the first read and went directly to McBride.
We can presume this has to do with a lack of trust in Harrison, but it could also be about how Murray handles pressure. If it's the former, Hockenson could be locked out from top production. If it's the latter, Hockenson could be Option 1 at Justin Jefferson's expense.
The hope is Murray learns to distribute better and elevate everyone.
