Will Watson win the starting job? If Watson wins the job, can he perform more like the Texans' version we saw years ago? If not, can Watson at least regain enough athletic ability to deliver serviceable production in Todd Monken's offense?

Has Shedeur Sanders emerged enough to beat Watson if Watson doesn't return to his old form that was never seen in Cleveland in the first place?

The offense is a good fit in theory, but the receivers are a mix of young and inexperienced options and veterans who haven't delivered to their potential.

Cleveland QB battle may not be decided until preseason

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson reportedly entered spring practices as 'the clear favorite' to be the team's No. 1 quarterback for the 2026 season, although QB Shedeur Sanders has 'bridged the gap somewhat,' according to ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler, who added that the competition is unlikely to be resolved until after preseason games have gotten underway.
