The season is now in full swing. We will focus on waivers and trades until later in the season, as we transition to stashing and selling players. In today's “Dynasty News,” we will examine some of the larger happenings of the week from a dynasty perspective.
Dynasty News: QB J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings did not need their star quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, against the Bengals on Sunday. Veteran Carson Wentz played well. For those wondering why McCarthy was not placed on injured reserve, Tracy Wolfson reported:
JJ McCarthy (high ankle sprain) didn't go on IR bc he would've had to miss 4 games. He will be in Europe with the team the next two weeks and rehab there. Expectation is he gets the bye week after to recover and then returns vs Eagles. Timeline can be moved up if he feels good…

Wentz is expected to start this week as well. The good news for Minnesota is that receiver Jordan Addison will be back this week after serving a three-game suspension, and Jordan Mason played well in Aaron Jones Sr.'s stead. Up next are the two games in Europe against Pittsburgh and Cleveland before the Week 6 bye.
Dynasty News: RB Najee Harris, Los Angeles Chargers
There was an audible gasp among fans watching the Broncos-Chargers game when Najee Harris went down with a non-contact injury. The 27-year-old signed a one-year deal this past offseason and has a long recovery ahead. Below is coach Harbaugh's confirmation of the injury.

Los Angeles will now lean on rookie Omarion Hampton to anchor the running game. Hassan Haskins will back him up. This injury is likely to result in more pass attempts each week for quarterback Justin Herbert.
Dynasty News: RB James Conner, Arizona Cardinals
Just after halftime, James Conner suffered a right-ankle injury, and it looked serious. His teammates huddled around him, and the cart escorted the veteran runner off the field. Ian Rapoport confirmed the extent of the damage:
#AZCardinals RB James Conner, who was carted off with his ankle immobilized, will need surgery to repair the injury he suffered today, sources say.

He's still undergoing tests to determine the full extent of the damage. But the respected Conner is out indefinitely. pic.twitter.com/W1M5P9MnTM
He was replaced by Trey Benson, who will be the starter for the remainder of the season. We expect Emari Demercado to be his backup. The Cardinals' offense is in a funk, so we would encourage tempering expectations for Benson to become a high-end dynasty option.
Dynasty News: RB Tyrone Tracy Jr., New York Giants
