The 2025 campaign is now in full swing. We will focus on waivers and trades until later in the season, when we will transition to players to stash, buy, and sell for the offseason. In today's "Dynasty News," we will examine some of the week's larger happenings from a dynasty perspective.

Dynasty News: QB Dillon Gabriel, Cleveland Browns

Last week, Adam Schefter broke the news that the Browns were benching Joe Flacco for rookie Dillon Gabriel against the Vikings this past weekend. The rookie played well in his first start. Gabriel was the tenth starting quarterback for Cleveland since the departure of Baker Mayfield

We must remember that the Cleveland offense is young and there will be growing pains. The Browns want to see what they have in the rookie before the 2026 NFL Draft. The Steelers, Dolphins, and Patriots are up next for Gabriel before the team's bye week.

Dynasty News: RB Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Bucky Irving sprained his foot in the Week 5 loss to Philadelphia. He played through the injury but was in a walking boot at last week's practice:

There is hope that the injury is not a long-term malady:

Then, on Friday, Jeremy Fowler indicates Irving will be back soon:

This weekend, Adam Schefter had more information on Irving's injuries:

Expect Rachaad White and Sean Tucker to continue in Irving's stead. Tampa Bay has three more games before the bye (against San Francisco, Detroit, and New Orleans), and we expect Irving to be healthy either after the bye or for the Saints game.

Dynasty News: RB Trey Benson, Arizona Cardinals

The Week 5 loss to Seattle was a costly defeat as Arizona lost starting tailback Trey Benson to injury. Adam Schefter later reported that Benson was headed to injured reserve:

Footballguys injury expert, Adam Hutchison, offered this analysis:

Dynasty managers have been trying to ascertain which Cardinals backup to roster. We prefer Emari Demercado to Michael Carter, but the real answer may be none of the above, as the team has struggled to run the ball since James Conner was lost for the season. Demecardo is the better receiver, so he may be a desperation flex option some weeks in PPR leagues. His costly fumble in Sunday's loss may leave Demercado in coach Gannon's doghouse.
