Spoiler alert: Expect a rebound.

Staffers with Good Vibes

  • Meng Song: Last season was brutal due to various injuries, but there's every indication that the 49ers offense will rebound as long as the primary pieces stay healthy.
  • Hutchinson Brown: After an injury-plagued 2024 season, they're looking healthier and should be able to bounce back and compete this season.
  • Jason Wood: Sports books put the win total at 10.5, which suggests a major rebound from last year's disappointing 6-win finish. With Brock Purdy signed long-term, Christin McCaffrey healthy, and a massive youth infusion on the defensive roster, San Francisco's arrow is pointing up and to the right.
  • Ben Cummins: The 49ers have one of the best offenses in the NFL.
  • Phil Alexander: The 49ers could be Bengals-West with a terrible defense, pass-heavy game scripts, and good-to-great skill position players.
  • Maurile Tremblay: Purdy's mega-extension, a healthy McCaffrey, and Shanahan's YAC scheme keep this attack potent despite the Deebo exit.
  • Kyle Bellefeuil: The return of Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy getting paid, and a solid defense bring good vibes on both sides of the ball for the 49ers.
  • David Zacharias: With the 2nd-easiest strength of schedule and a Vegas over/under projected win total of 10.5 games, the 49ers are playoff contenders.
  • Jeff Blaylock: Expect this team to rebound from last year's injury-cursed season with healthier playmakers and a favorable schedule.
  • Jeff Haseley: The 49ers are in good shape to compete in the NFC West. Brock Purdy is signed, Christian McCaffrey is back, and this year's schedule is favorable.
  • Julia Papworth: Nowhere to go but up in 2025 after an injury-ridden 2024. Throw in one of the easiest schedules in the NFL, and the Niners could be back in the Super Bowl with very little distance to travel.
  • Colton Dodgson: With some better luck, health-wise, the 49ers should challenge for the NFC West. The offense can be one of the better groups in the NFL.
  • Jeff Bell: The 49ers experienced the Super Bowl hangover year from hell. They have had an offseason to reset and are primed to take advantage of a clean slate.

Staffer with Neutral Vibes

  • Craig Lakins: With multiple players coming off of serious injuries or carrying contract issues into the season, there's reason for caution in San Francisco.

Staffers with Bad Vibes

  • Tripp Brebner: Is anyone tracking how many 49ers are disgruntled? The rookie QB contract window has closed.
  • Andy Hicks: This team relies too much on too few aging players. Last year, this bit them with a last-place division finish. It's difficult to keep climbing the mountain once you fall down.
