Week 8 Results
Jacksonville (vs Indianapolis) - 4 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, 2 INTs, 1 DEF TD, 7 pts allowed
Boom goes the dynamite! The Jaguars have now blown out three opponents at home in three home games. The Colts are that bad right now (that doesn't mean you should play the Cowboys D/ST this week!), but the Jaguars are that good right now too.
A Look Ahead: @BAL @TEN NYG - We're sticking with the Jags D/ST for at least the next two weeks
Cincinnati (vs Tennessee) - 1 safety, 2 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries
Would you believe a quarterback in this game threw three interceptions to the same defender (Amani Hooker), and it wasn't Cam Ward? Both the Bengals and Titans D/STs were good plays in this 43-36 shootout as long as you don't have penalties for high yards and points allowed, but the Bengals were surprisingly not the better play of the two.
A Look Ahead: @ATL PIT @WAS - The Bengals D/ST is still worth a look with Michael Penix Jr. willing to chuck it up if Atlanta falls behind against Cincinnati in Madrid, but Cincinnati has been a notoriously slow starter this season, so they aren't a preferred choice.
LA Rams (vs LA Chargers) - 2 sacks, 2 INT
The Chargers actually held a 9-3 advantage at the two-minute warning of the first half in this game, and then everything fell apart. We should still consider the rested Texans defense against Justin Herbert in Week 9 as he descends through this hellish season.
A Look Ahead: @WAS @ARI BYE - When Myles Garrett is back (which should be soon), be ready to put the Rams in.
Tampa Bay (vs Atlanta) - 4 INT, 0 pts allowed
Bless Michael Penix Jr.'s heart for throwing 24 times in a downpour.
A Look Ahead: @CHI BYE @DET - We won't play any fantasy D/ST against the Bears or Lions, but we might be able to leave them in our lineups for the entire Carolina, Chargers, Baltimore stretch in Weeks 12-14
Pittsburgh (vs Cleveland) - 8 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 6 points allowed
The Browns haven't won a regular season game in Pittsburgh since 2003. This went as expected.
A Look Ahead: BYE @CIN @PHI - The Steelers D/ST will be a preferred rent-a-defense in Week 12 in the cross-state matchup with the Eagles, but they aren't worth carrying for two weeks to ensure you have them.
Green Bay (vs Carolina) - 6 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, 1 INT
The Panthers offense is being exposed against better competition, and the Packers defense is coming with Jonathan Gannon calling the shots. They will get Micah Parsons back soon to boot.
A Look Ahead: @NE MIN BYE - Drake Maye isn't a quarterback we pick on with rent-a-defense choices, but Kyler Murray might be, especially if Micah Parsons is back for Week 11.
Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda
Buffalo (vs Baltimore) - 4 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 INT
Lamar Jackson left the game and the Ravens offense basically folded.
Tennessee (at Cincinnati) - 3 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, 3 INT
Joe Burrow still accounted for six touchdowns and had the last laugh in this one.
Las Vegas (at NY Jets) - 2 sacks, 1 INT, 1 ST TD
Dylan Laube is fast! His 95-yard kick return touchdown was the first of the season by any team, and it helped keep the Raiders in this game while the Jets were rattling off six straight scoring drives to open.
