Scouting Report

Chris Brazzell II is an NFL legacy. His father, Chris, played for the Jets and Cowboys briefly before a career in the CFL. The younger Brazzell started his career at Tulane, playing two seasons under Willie Fritz, who had coached his father at Blinn College 27 years earlier. Fritz left to coach Houston following 2023, a factor that played into Brazzell's decision to transfer to Tennessee. In 2024, Brazzell rounded out a talented Tennessee receiver rotation that included current Raider Dont'e Thornton. 2025 was the coming-out party; Brazzell was second in the SEC in receiving yards and Top 20 nationally, earning first-team All-SEC honors.

Brazzell's length and explosion immediately draw attention. He is a long strider with good build-up speed. He parlays that long speed by working back to the quarterback in the intermediate game. At the same time, he is comfortable attacking the middle of the field and working off receiver screens when defensive backs give cushion. Brazzell ends as an interesting evaluation. NFL teams have been hesitant about Tennessee skill-position players, citing concerns about the system translating to the NFL. He had an up-and-down college career, raising concerns about his effort. His lack of bulk likely limits him to playing outside and could cap volume. He could threaten the first round, but players of this profile can hit early production speed bumps.

Rundown

Brazzell II is a long-striding, big-play outside receiver with one of the highest ceilings in the class. He is likely best suited as a supporting receiver outside, a role that may limit his overall fantasy utility.
