Scouting Report

Kevon King helped Oscar Smith High to back-to-back 6A state championships, earning All-Tidewater Player of the Year, first-team all-state, and all-region honors. He enrolled at Norfolk State as a freshman and quickly became part of the team's backfield rotation, solidifying himself as the lead back by his sophomore season. In his junior year, the Spartans' offense ran through him. In 2025, Norfolk State endured a 1-11 campaign, and frequent negative game scripts limited his touches, but King still posted a career-best 8.1 yards per carry.

King is an explosive, decisive runner with short-area burst, solid contact balance, and patience. He attacks gaps decisively, keeps his pads low, and can gain yards after contact. He reads blocks well and shows vision to maximize limited lanes. However, his production comes against FCS/MEAC competition, leaving questions about how his skills translate against higher-level defenses. He's also limited in top-end speed and pass-catching experience. He is not a reliable pass blocker and often misses assignments. Combined with a dip in senior-year usage, these factors make him a priority undrafted free agent prospect rather than a draft selection.

Rundown

King displays good burst and bend near the line of scrimmage, but question marks about his overall profile will likely push him out of the draft without a standout combine performance.

Player Comp

Aaron Jones Sr.
