"Cupboard if full, no excuses"

Matt Waldman
"
Wiliams had a horrific rookie experience. His first offensive coordinator was so vague in this scheme that there were many plays with no set drops for the quarterback. Drops and route depths are tied together. With D.J. Moore playing split-end rather than his best position of flanker, Williams and Moore were not remotely on the same accord in the offense.
That's just one mess. The scheme featured deeper drops despite the offensive line lacking the talent to stave off pressure for that long.
The Bears didn't even add a veteran quarterback with long-term starter experience as a player-coach in the room, which most good organizations do. This was malpractice.
Williams went from a low-end QB2 for two-thirds of the season to a top-five fantasy QB for the final slate of games where interim offensive coordinator, Thomas Brown, performed triage on the most glaring problems.
With Ben Johnson in the fold, expect fantasy starter production with an elite ceiling.

"While Williams did not set the world on fire his rookie season, he did a lot of things right. He finished with just over 3500 yards and 20 touchdowns, plus almost 500 rushing yards. Most importantly, he protected the football. His six interceptions were the second-fewest of any quarterback with over 500 attempts. The Bears added Luther Burden and Colston Loveland in the draft, and brought over Ben Johnson to coach. Johnson's success in Detroit should have fantasy managers hopeful for growth in Chicago."

Colton Dodgson
"
The Bears' offseason should tell you everything you need to know about how invested the organization is in maximizing the potential of Caleb Williams. He’s got an offensive savant at head coach. He’s got enough offensive weapons to make every quarterback not named Jalen Hurts or Joe Burrow jealous. He’s got an offensive line that figures to be much improved.
There might be some guesswork when it comes to the skill players in Chicago. There shouldn’t be much guesswork when it comes to the value of Caleb Williams with Ben Johnson.
