Buy Low, Sell High: Week 6

Sigmund Bloom's Buy Low, Sell High: Week 6 Sigmund Bloom Published 10/13/2022

Buy Low

Kyler Murray, QB, DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Eno Benjamin, RB, Arizona

The Cardinals offense has been sluggish, but it is about to get invigorated by the return of DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins was running routes from the slot in camp, and the slot receivers have been getting targeted frequently by Murray, so don’t be surprised if Hopkins' catch and target numbers are up from last year. Murray will clearly be helped by Hopkins' return, as he had a lot more trouble moving the ball when Hopkins was out last year. Benjamin should get at least one week as the starter, and it’s possible that he impresses enough while James Conner and Darrel Williams are out to earn Chase Edmonds’ old role when they are healthy - and remember, Conner is the type of player that tends to stay hurt once he misses time.

Justin Fields, QB, Darnell Mooney, WR, Chicago

It’s very reasonable to expect Fields to at least show incremental improvement as a passer and leader of this offense as we get further into the season. He had his best day as a passer in Week 5, and he’s facing one of the weakest pass defenses in the league in Week 6 when Washington comes to town Thursday. If his 52-yard scramble for a score wasn’t called back last week, he would be higher in fantasy rankings this week. If he breaks a play like that this week on national television, his price will go up in fantasy leagues. Mooney is a big play waiting to happen. He has made two amazing plays on deep balls already this year and just needs more chances to show up in the box score.

Elijah Moore, WR, New York Jets

Chances are the dynasty team that has Moore isn’t going to sell him at a discount, but it can’t hurt to ask. It’s possible the team was expecting Moore to be an every-week starter this year, but the Jets' target tree is too wide, and the offense appears to be running through the backfield now, which is smart as Zach Wilson is rounding into form. Alternatively, if you have coveted Moore and feel remorse for missing him in rookie drafts, this is a small window while Moore’s production is lagging with no sign of a reversal on the horizon.
