5 Dynasty RB Sells After the NFL Draft

Chad Parsons's 5 Dynasty RB Sells After the NFL Draft Chad Parsons Published 05/16/2023

Dynasty rookie drafts and the waiver wire are optimal environments to find running value for future lineup upside. The NFL Draft has shifted values for rookies and veterans alike at the position to offer opportunities in trading on the inexpensive range of the position. The offseason is the perfect time to shift from running back to wide receiver on a dynasty roster to rebalance. Here are the notable profiles and price points to target as sell candidates in the trade market:

Travis Etienne Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars

Price Range: RB5-10

Why: Travis Etienne saw a Day 2 quality profile in Tank Bigsby added in this year's draft as the most recent shift for Etienne's outlook. Etienne is also older than most assume, as he exited Clemson at 22 years old and had a redshirt rookie season due to injury. Etienne is priced at a point where a workhorse role is required, as his age is already tapping out his market value upside without a truly dominant season in 2023. Etienne provides an optimal opportunity to shift to a cornerstone wide receiver and rebalance a dynasty roster. Target Etienne+ to shop for A.J. Brown, Jaylen Waddle, or even a stud tight end like Mark Andrews in premium formats.

Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys

Price Range: RB12-18

Why: Pollard did not see notable competition added in the draft, but Ezekiel Elliott could return to hurt Pollard's market share. Pollard is 26 years old this season, and 2022 was his first time seeing a notable strong workload at points dating back through his college career. Without the DNA of a starting running back, question Pollard's ability to string together a host of healthy stretches. Pollard is a 2023 play for upside, but the next injury or extended absence will tarnish his dynasty market value to limit options. A few recent dynasty trades to spark ideas include Pollard for Gabriel Davis and a 2024 1st (Superflex), Pollard and a 2024 2nd for DK Metcalf (1QB), and Pollard plus Kyler Murray for Joe Burrow (Superflex).

Our Dan Hindery has Tony Pollard gaining value post-NFL Draft, offering a strong exit opportunity.
