NY Jets, Team Vibes and Players to Target and Avoid

Footballguys Staff's NY Jets, Team Vibes and Players to Target and Avoid Footballguys Staff Published 07/07/2023

As we race toward August, Footballguys.com will look at one team per day with our quick-hitting Team Vibes and Players to Target and Avoid, where we check out the overall mood of each team's offense and let you know the players we are in on (because they are great values at the cost it takes to acquire them) and who we're out on (because they are too expensive and won't give you a good return on that investment).

Jets, Team Vibes

  • Good - 8
  • Neutral - 6
  • Bad - 0

Staffers with Good Vibes

  • Christian Williams: Upgrading from Zach Wilson and Mike White to Aaron Rodgers could be the final piece for a deep playoff run.
  • Dan Hindery: It feels like Rodgers will bear down and produce one more strong season, though my confidence in this offense beyond 2023 is low.
  • Phil Alexander: Aaron Rodgers gets a mulligan for his shaky 2022 after winning league MVP in each of the previous two seasons.
  • Chad Parsons: Quarterback was the glaring weakness last year, and even a declining Aaron Rodgers is a stark upgrade across the board.
  • Jason Wood: The team took important steps forward last year, hitting on a bountiful draft class. And have now added the guy who has won two of the last three MVP awards.
  • Andy Hicks: The pieces are in place for a high-scoring fantasy offense with depth across the board.
  • Jeff Bell: If Aaron Rodgers plays anywhere near his MVP seasons, this offense is primed to ascend.
  • Nick Whalen: The Jets added Aaron Rodgers to a team who just drafted the offensive and defensive rookies of the year.

Staffers with Neutral Vibes

  • Ben Cummins: The 39-year-old Aaron Rodgers provides a stable floor and exciting ceiling to an offense with exciting skill player talent.
  • Dave Kluge: Aaron Rodgers is a likely upgrade from the Jets’ 2022 quarterback room, but going on 40 years old, there’s a lot of risk that he isn’t the guy he used to be.
  • Jeff Haseley: I am not sold on Aaron Rodgers yet. He is the determining factor for this team's success, though. As Rodgers goes, the Jets go.
  • Jeff Tefertiller: Aaron Rodgers is coming off a down year. His potential rebound will determine the Jet's fate.
  • Daniel Harms: Tons of guesswork and assumed production from a 39-year-old QB.
  • Ryan Weisse: Nothing I saw from Aaron Rodgers last season moves the needle. I love Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson, but overall this offense could disappoint.

Staffers with Bad Vibes

  • None.
