Quarterback

Drake Maye, New England (vs Jacksonville - London) **Monitor Status**

Note: Maye has a knee issue that required an MRI this week. Maye was good in garbage time last week, now let’s see if he can be good in what might be a competitive game on the other side of the pond. Maye will face a Jacksonville defense that made Caleb Williams look like a 10-year veteran and Joe Flacco look like he was 10 years younger over the last two games. Maye’s chemistry with his receivers got better as the game went on, and he was the team’s leading rusher.

Bo Nix, Denver (at New Orleans) **Thursday**

Nix could be a good play for the second week in a row, and like Maye, it might not take the benefit of garbage time. At least, it better not, as the Saints aren’t running away from anyone without their starting quarterback and two starting wide receivers. The Saints defense is also banged up, and their tackling has been atrocious lately. Nix should build on his second-half success last week against the Chargers in a big game for Sean Payton’s pride in his return to New Orleans on a night that they will honor Drew Brees.

Daniel Jones, NY Giants (vs Philadelphia)

Jones has been up and down, but with Malik Nabers hopefully on track to return, he’ll be up this week. The Eagles defense is vulnerable and should have a lot more trouble slowing down Jones and the Giants than they did frustrating Deshaun Watson last week. Jones can add upside as a runner, and hopefully, his renewed connection with Darius Slayton can result in a downfield shot play or two working with Nabers back and drawing coverage. If Nabers sits for one more week, Jones is a much less attractive bye coverage/QB2/Superflex play.

Matthew Stafford, LA Rams (vs Las Vegas)

Stafford and the Rams offense are well-rested, and there’s a chance that Cooper Kupp will return this week. Even if Kupp doesn’t return, the Raiders defense has given up three total scores to each of Andy Dalton and Bo Nix over the last four weeks. The other two quarterbacks they faced were Justin Fields, who scored twice on the ground, and Deshaun Watson. Stafford is a safe play if you are looking to the waiver wire for a quarterback this week, and he should be there coming off of his bye.
