Staffers with Good Vibes
- Hutchinson Brown: Bryce Young looks like a big-time breakout candidate, this receiving room has some exciting youth, and the defense continues to see upgrades.
- Phil Alexander: It took a few games, but year one under Dave Canales was encouraging. The arrow points up, heading into year two.
Staffers with Neutral Vibes
- Jason Wood: The Panthers went 5-12 last year and are projected for 6.5 wins this year. But let's remember this team lost five of its last seven in 2024, and the two wins were overtime squeakers. Bryce Young's ability to sustain last year's improvement will be the key pivot point.
- Jeff Bell: Bryce Young's second-half bounce-back stokes optimism, and Tetairoa McMillan gives them a shot at the number one receiver they have lacked since DJ Moore was traded.
- Maurile Tremblay: Young is flashing command under Canales and two new $50 million guards, yet a still-unproven QB-rookie-WR combo keeps the ceiling murky.
- Ben Cummins: Bryce Young played exceptionally well in the second half of last season. Paired with a first-round receiver, Young and Carolina's offense will take a big leap.
- Julia Papworth: The team is hopeful following Bryce Young's promising performances down the stretch at the end of the 2024 season. Cautious optimism exists with the addition of a potential Alpha for Young in the rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan. It is a make-or-break season for the organization.
- Kyle Bellefeuil: Bryce Young's solid finish to the second half of the season brings optimism for the offense. We just need to see if it carries over to the start of this year.
- Jeff Blaylock: There's optimism surrounding what's viewed as an ascending offense, but they are not yet a threat to the Buccaneers.
- Jeff Haseley: The Panthers are on the rise. Bryce Young will be a key factor in how far this team rises. Defense should be better than last season.
- Tripp Brebner: As in stuck in neutral. The headline free agents joining the NFL's worst defense of all time are Tre'von Moehrig and Tershawn Wharton.
- Mauricio Gutierrez: What we saw from Bryce Young at the end of last season was encouraging, but the team still hasn't given him enough of a supporting cast.
- Meng Song: Despite some signs of life down the stretch, the Panthers scored the 10th fewest points in the NFL last year and remain unexciting overall.
- David Zacharias: The maturation of Bryce Young and Carolina's 10th-easiest strength of schedule should at least keep the Panthers' wheels from falling off.
- Andy Hicks: Bryce Young made improvements in his second year, but unless we see further development in year three this side is going nowhere.
- Craig Lakins: Bryce Young made positive strides after his midseason benching. They have some fun, young talent, but there are still several question marks.
- Colton Dodgson: There's been an obvious effort to surround Bryce Young with talent. If he takes another step with Dave Canales, things could get interesting in the NFC South.
