QB Kirk Cousins, Raiders
One of the bigger quarterback divides between their fantasy box score and underlying "how did you play" stats of the week is Kirk Cousins. The veteran posted three passing touchdowns, but two went to Ashton Jeanty as the stud running back did the rest. Cousins struggled as the game progressed, with pressure affecting his throws (lacking mobility), and totaled a mere 160 yards. A reminder: this was one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL last season, and the goal for 2026 is to be below average - which would be a monumental improvement by comparison. The touchdowns inflate Cousins' numbers, who is saddled with one of the worst wide receiver corps in the NFL, and he posted zero big-time throws, paired with two turnover-worthy passes, a better indicator of how a quarterback fared. The good news is Kyler Murray and Sam Darnold injuries, plus down games from a myriad of other quarterbacks in your dynasty league (Cam Ward, etc.) offer an opportunity to hunt sell angles for Cousins to a team already needing a quarterback this week.

A future 2nd is the going rate for Cousins as a middle-ground expectation. The timetable has not changed for seeing Fernando Mendoza for the Raiders. The Raiders were supposed to win Week 1, and Cousins was boosted by Jeanty's two receiving touchdowns (and an overall strong game) more than by elevating the situation himself. Exiting now, off of a quality fantasy game, is optimal to secure future capital or enhance other positions, like the Matthew Golden trade example, before the bottom falls out of his value.
