The fantasy community loves talking about values, sleepers, and busts. But the reality is that most players are drafted very close to their most reasonable and likely outcomes. Terry McLaurin is squarely in the fairly valued camp. He's a proven, reliable No. 2 fantasy receiver with a relatively high floor and an established ceiling.

He's probably not going to be the MVP of your team when you look back on this season, but he will be a vital piece that delivers rock-solid numbers most weeks.
The question is whether McLaurin is worth his current cost, coming off the board as the WR23 in the fifth round of 12-team drafts. The answer lies in where you stand on five key debates:
- Is McLaurin fully healthy?
- Will Jayden Daniels return to his 2024 rookie form?
- Will new OC David Blough be an effective play-caller?
- Are the Commanders standing pat at receiver?
- Will McLaurin land on the positive side of touchdown variance?
1) McLaurin's Health
Injuries play a far larger role in our fantasy successes and failures than we'd care to admit. McLaurin is coming off a disappointing campaign, finishing as the overall WR53 (WR33 on a per-game basis) after missing seven games with a persistent quad injury. Fortunately, that issue appears to be in the rearview mirror; he participated fully in minicamp practices earlier this month. Let's not forget that prior to last year's hiccup, the veteran had played in all 17 games for four consecutive seasons.
2) Jayden Daniels' Return to Form
Daniels burst onto the NFL scene with a dynamic 2024 rookie season, passing for 3,568 yards and 25 touchdowns against just nine interceptions, while adding 891 yards and six scores on the ground. That top-5 fantasy finish made him the toast of drafts last year, but a brutal series of injuries turned his sophomore campaign into an outright bust. Daniels missed 10 games across four distinct stretches: two games with a knee sprain, one with a hamstring pull, three with a dislocated elbow, and an additional four after re-aggravating that same elbow.
The fantasy community is rightfully giving Daniels a pass for last year's lost season, keeping him cemented as the current QB5. We are aligned with the consensus here. His healthy 2024 tape is far more predictive of what's to come than a chaotic year spent battling a litany of separate ailments.
