Sleepers at Quarterback

Geno Smith, NY Jets (at Detroit)

Smith has played better than his numbers suggest, and the Lions' defense has made opposing quarterbacks' fantasy numbers look better than they are, so this is a perfect combination. Adonai Mitchell is a legit vertical threat that required pass interference or outstanding bids on the ball in flight to deny big plays against the Packers, and Breece Hall popped a big play as a receiver last week, so the engine is primed heading to the Motor City.

C.J. Stroud, Houston (at Indianapolis)

Stroud is carrying the Texans offense as the offensive line just can't open up holes for the running game. He probably won't have Nico Collins back, but Stroud is doing a great job getting all of his targets involved and wasn't the critical point of failure in Week 2. In Week 1, he almost won a quarterback duel with Josh Allen. He should be very productive against a Colts defense that is allowing 37 points a game so far, albeit to Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes II.

Jameis Winston, NY Giants (vs Tennessee)

As my co-host Cecil Lammey put it, Winston looked like a World Cup Correspondent in Week 2. He could get it together in time for a matchup against a very beatable Titans pass defense. Winston has lit some fantasy fireworks shows in the past, but he can also burn down the offense, and that style of play doesn't seem to be compatible with John Harbaugh. This will be a very telling game in the forecast of the Giants' offense going forward.

Drew Lock/Sam Darnold, Seattle (at Washington) **Monitor Darnold Status**

Darnold is already getting in limited practices and could return from his glute injury after missing only one game. Not that they need to rush him back because Drew Lock has led them to two wins in Darnold's absence. Whoever starts will have a high ceiling against Washington's pass defense, which has allowed seven passing touchdowns in two games. Bonus: playing one of them is a way to get Jaxon Smith-Njigba in your lineup!
