Quick Links to the League Dominator User Guide
League Dominator's Rest-of-Season Rankings help you look beyond the upcoming week and evaluate players based on their projected performance for the remainder of the fantasy football season. Using your league's specific scoring rules and roster requirements, these rankings can help you identify trade targets, evaluate free agents, and plan for the weeks ahead.
The Your Roster tool takes that information a step further, focusing on how each player contributes to a specific team's roster.
In this guide, we'll walk through both tools, explain how to customize the information displayed, and take a closer look at how League Dominator calculates player Value.
Navigating Rest-of-Season Rankings
To get started, open the Menu in League Dominator and select Rest-of-Season Rankings.
At the top of the page, you can select your league and the week you want to evaluate. You can also view all positions together or narrow the rankings to a specific position, including QB, RB, WR, TE, and other positions supported by your league.
Unlike Weekly Rankings, which focus on the upcoming games, Rest-of-Season Rankings evaluate players based on their projected production over the remaining schedule.
The rankings include information such as projected rest-of-season fantasy points, remaining games, bye weeks, and each player's overall Value. Players are also grouped into tiers to help you identify differences in their projected value.
Highlighting and Filtering Players
Just like Weekly Rankings, Rest-of-Season Rankings includes Highlight and Show dropdowns to help you focus on specific players.
The Highlight dropdown allows you to highlight players on your team, other teams in your league, available free agents, or a combination of these groups.
You can then change Show to Highlighted Only to remove everyone else from the rankings.
For example, selecting Your Team and Free Agents, then choosing Highlighted Only, creates a customized list comparing your current roster against the players available on your waiver wire.
This is particularly helpful when evaluating potential roster upgrades for the remainder of the season.
Understanding Player Value
One of the most important features of Rest-of-Season Rankings is the Value column.
While projected fantasy points tell you how much a player is expected to score, Value considers how useful that production is within your specific league. This allows League Dominator to compare players across different positions rather than relying on projected points alone.
Value is calculated using several factors:
-
Rest-of-Season Projections: How many fantasy points a player is expected to score over the remaining season, using your league's scoring rules.
-
Value Over a Starter (vStart): How many more points a player is projected to score compared to a typical starter at the same position in your league.
-
Value Over a Bench Player (vBench): How many more points a player is projected to score compared to a typical rostered player at the same position.
-
Roster Requirements: The number of starting spots and bench positions in your league, which influence how much value a player provides.
League Dominator combines these factors into a Value score ranging from 0 to 100. The highest-valued player receives a score of 100, while the lowest-valued rostered player receives a score of 1. Players below the rostered threshold receive values between 0 and 1.
This makes Value particularly useful when comparing players at different positions. A quarterback may be projected to score more fantasy points than a running back, but that doesn't necessarily make the quarterback more valuable in your league.
For customers interested in the details behind the calculation, click How is Value calculated? near the top of the Rest-of-Season Rankings page for a more technical explanation.
Using Your Roster
While Rest-of-Season Rankings evaluates players across your entire league, Your Roster focuses on the players belonging to one specific team.
To access this tool, open the Menu and select Your Roster.
At the top of the page, you can select your league, choose the week you want to evaluate, and switch between teams. This means you're not limited to reviewing your own roster. You can also examine another team's players when evaluating potential trades.
Your Roster displays much of the same information found in Rest-of-Season Rankings, but with a few important additions that focus specifically on how players contribute to the selected team.
Three columns are especially useful here because they provide information not found in Rest-of-Season Rankings:
-
Start?: The number of remaining weeks a player is projected to start for the selected team.
-
Pts+: The projected points a player adds over the team's next-best option each remaining week.
-
Bench: The projected points a player provides as bench depth above the team's worst-starter level.
These numbers help you understand not just how productive a player might be, but how much that player actually contributes to a particular roster.
For example, a player with strong rest-of-season projections might have limited opportunities to start on a team with excellent depth at that position. Another player with fewer projected points could be more important to a roster that lacks reliable alternatives.
The Value column uses the same calculation explained above, allowing you to compare players consistently between Your Roster and Rest-of-Season Rankings.
Customizing Your Rankings With Edit Columns
Both Rest-of-Season Rankings and Your Roster allow you to customize the information displayed, although some available columns differ between the two tools.
Click Edit Columns in the upper-right corner of either page to choose which statistics and additional information you want to see.
Available options include:
-
Rest-of-Season Projections: Review projected fantasy points, points per remaining game, and other information about a player's expected production.
-
Season Performance: Compare projections with actual results, including fantasy points scored and games played.
-
Roster Value: Examine how players compare to typical starters and bench players at their positions.
-
Staff Rankings (Rest-of-Season Rankings only): Add individual rest-of-season rankings from Footballguys experts to compare different opinions. This option is not available in Your Roster.
You can select individual columns, rearrange their order, or use Select All and Deselect All to customize your view. When you're finished, click Save Changes.
As with Weekly Rankings, columns are sortable, allowing you to organize players by the information that matters most to your decision. If you're using the web version of League Dominator, you can also hover over any column heading for a brief explanation of what that statistic represents.
Whether you're evaluating trade possibilities, identifying potential waiver wire upgrades, or examining the strengths and weaknesses of a particular roster, Rest-of-Season Rankings and Your Roster provide valuable tools for planning beyond the upcoming week.
