Managing one fantasy football team takes work. Managing several can feel like a second job. Between setting lineups, monitoring injuries, working the waiver wire, and evaluating trades, there is always another decision to make.

Footballguys League Dominator brings those decisions together in one place. Using Footballguys' expert rankings and projections, League Dominator provides personalized recommendations tailored to your league's scoring system, roster settings, and available players.

The updated League Dominator makes managing multiple fantasy teams easier, starting with the refreshed 5-Second Primer. This dashboard gives you a quick look at all your leagues in one place, helping you identify lineup changes, potential free-agent additions, and opportunities to improve your teams without jumping between multiple websites.

Let's walk through adding your leagues, understanding the 5-Second Primer, and customizing the tool to help you make better fantasy football decisions.

Note: The screenshots and instructions in this guide use the desktop version of League Dominator, but the experience is nearly identical in the mobile app.

Adding Your Leagues

The first step is getting your fantasy leagues connected to League Dominator. If you've already added leagues through the Footballguys website or Draft Dominator, you're all set! Those leagues will automatically be available in League Dominator, with no additional setup required.

If you haven't connected any leagues yet, the process is simple. Footballguys supports automatic syncing with 11 of the most popular fantasy football platforms. Click Add Leagues near the top of the 5-Second Primer to get started. From there, you can connect your leagues and import their scoring settings, rosters, schedules, and other information. League Dominator uses these settings to provide recommendations tailored specifically to your leagues.

Important: If you're adding a CBS or ESPN league for the first time, you'll need to do so through the Edit/Sync Leagues page on the Footballguys website. Once connected there, those leagues will automatically appear in League Dominator, including the mobile app.

Understanding the 5-Second Primer

The 5-Second Primer is the default landing page in League Dominator, and for many fantasy managers, it may be the only screen they need for weekly lineup decisions.

Instead of opening each fantasy league individually and comparing players, the Primer brings your teams together on one dashboard. Each connected league has its own section, allowing you to scroll through your teams and quickly identify potential lineup improvements.

Reading Your Lineup Recommendations

For each league, the Primer organizes your players by position and highlights the recommended starters.

  • Start: Players displayed in bold to the left of the green/red-colored dot are recommended starters.

  • Sit: Players to the right of the green/red-colored dot that are not in bold are alternatives who are not currently recommended to start.

  • Rostered Players: Players already on your team are displayed with a standard background.

  • Free Agents: Available players are displayed with a shaded background, helping you identify potential upgrades.

  • Projected Points: The number beside each player represents their projected fantasy points using your league's scoring settings.

These recommendations help you quickly identify whether your current lineup is optimized or whether another player could improve your projected score.

The Primer makes it easy to see which players Footballguys recommends starting at each position, along with your other available options. If a free agent appears on the green side of the dot, that's a potential waiver wire addition who could immediately improve your lineup.

In the example above, League Dominator recommends starting one quarterback, a second quarterback in the Superflex position, two running backs but one from the Waiver Wire, three wide receivers, one tight end, another running back from Waivers at Flex, and one team defense. These recommendations reflect the league's specific roster requirements and scoring settings.

League Dominator recommends the moves you should make, but you'll still need to make any lineup changes or free-agent additions through your league's host website or app.

If you prefer a different layout, you can change the display to show separate Start and Sit rows instead of the colored dots. We'll cover that option in the settings section below.

Understanding Your Matchup

Below each league's lineup recommendations, the Primer provides a snapshot of your weekly matchup, including your projected fantasy points, your opponent's projected points, and your estimated probability of winning. This allows you to quickly identify which matchups look favorable and which may require additional attention.

For a more detailed breakdown, click Analyze Matchup to open Matchup Dominator, where you can explore lineup options and compare your team against your opponent. We'll take a closer look at Matchup Dominator in a separate article in this series.

Customizing the 5-Second Primer

League Dominator gives you several ways to adjust the recommendations and information displayed on the Primer.

At the top of the dashboard, you'll find several useful controls:

  • Week: Select the NFL week you want to review.

  • Optimize For: Choose between Most Points and Best Lineup. Most Points recommends the players with the highest projected fantasy points, while Best Lineup also considers each player's ceiling, floor, and risk. This can lead to slightly different starting lineup recommendations.

  • Free Agents: Choose whether available free agents should be included in your recommendations.

  • Experts: Use the Footballguys consensus or select individual experts to guide your lineup decisions.

  • Display: Customize the appearance of the 5-Second Primer, including the color scheme, layout, and format of the Start/Sit recommendations.

  • Sort Leagues: If you have multiple leagues synced, you can adjust the order in which they appear in the Primer listing.

One notable improvement for 2026 is the addition of Footballguys rankers to the Experts options, which previously included only projectors. When you select an individual expert, you can choose to see only the recommendations that differ from the Footballguys consensus or view that expert's entire recommended lineup. This makes it easy to compare different opinions without losing sight of the consensus recommendations.

These options let you customize the Primer around the decisions you're trying to make. Whether you want a quick look at your best projected lineup or want to see if available free agents could help, you can adjust the dashboard without leaving the page.

More Than Just Lineup Decisions

The 5-Second Primer is only the starting point.

Using the Menu in the upper-right corner, you can access the rest of League Dominator's tools, including Matchup Dominator, Weekly Rankings, Waiver Wire Dominator, Trade Dominator, Rest-of-Season Rankings, and League Forecast.

Each tool provides a deeper look at a different part of managing your fantasy teams. Throughout this series, we'll explore these tools individually, showing you how to use each one and how it can help you make better fantasy football decisions.

With your leagues connected and your preferred settings in place, you can spend less time jumping between leagues and more time making the moves that help you win.
