The Panthers added Rico Dowdle in free agency and Trevor Etienne in the draft. Once fit, Jonathan Brooks could be another player to get touches. Hubbard deserves his extension, but fantasy managers may be disappointed. Dynasty managers need to be ready for a year to year proposition.

Chuba Hubbard likely for backup role?
Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard has rotated with RB Rico Dowdle in two games since returning from a calf injury. Head coach Dave Canales appears ready to abandon the rotation in favor of Dowdle. 'Chuba has meant a lot to this organization and certainly to the identity of what we want to build and we wanted to give him the opportunity to go out there and to continue to impact our team in a positive way,' Canales said Tuesday, Oct. 28. 'But we cannot ignore the fact Rico has been exceptional.'
Chuba Hubbard struggles in Week 8
Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard rushed 12 times for just 34 yards in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills, although he did have a rushing touchdown. He was targeted once, but ended up with zero receptions, too.

Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard rushed 14 times for just 31 yards in Week 7 against the New York Jets, while adding two receptions for 24 yards on three targets.
Week 7 injury report for Carolina
Carolina Panthers DE Patrick Jones II (back) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 7 against the New York Jets. G Damien Lewis (shoulder) did not practice all week and is listed as questionable. DL Tershawn Wharton (toe) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable. C Austin Corbett (knee), WR Jalen Coker (quad), and OT Taylor Moton (elbow) practiced in full on Friday, Oct. 17, and is listed as questionable. CB Akayleb Evans (hamstring), CB Jaycee Horn (shoulder), RB Chuba Hubbard (calf), and TE Ja'Tavion Sanders (ankle) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
