Matt Waldman's Roundtable Week 5: What's Wrong With . . . ? Matt Waldman Published 10/05/2023

Welcome to Week 5 of the 2023 Footballguys Roundtable. Our intrepid panel of fantasy pundits discusses and debates four topics every week. We split the conversation into separate features.

This week's roundtable features these four topics:

Let's roll.

What's Wrong With . . . ?

Matt Waldman: Pick one player from the list below to explain what's going wrong with their fantasy value:

And while you're at it, explain if you think they will see better fortunes as the season unfolds.

Matt Montgomery: Moore is an okay receiver with an elite quarterback, so we always had too high of expectations. He simply isn’t someone who is worth a spot in your starting lineup, and until we see him put together minimally back-to-back weeks of great production, I would avoid playing him. I believe that once the Chiefs get into that midseason Chiefs form, he could be a valuable flex option, but like I said previously, until we see it, we must look elsewhere for water in this fantasy desert!

Corey Spala: Lawrence is my nomination here. Through four weeks, there is no doubt we have been disappointed in him for fantasy purposes. He is the second-highest-graded quarterback, according to PFF. He is tied for 16th in completion percentage (67.1%), which is above Patrick Mahomes II for the record. Lawrence has notably missed a handful of passes, which would have resulted in big gains. I am a believer that the offense will get corrected, and Lawrence will come through for fantasy purposes moving forward.
