Welcome to another season of Dynasty IDP Sleepers! The purpose of this article is to highlight a handful of linebackers, defensive linemen, and defensive backs that might be available in your dynasty leagues. I sample my own 12-, 14-, and 16-team leagues to get a cross-section of players who could be free agents in your leagues. Let's take a look at this week's suggestions!
Dynasty Sleeper Linebackers
Curtis Robinson, San Francisco
We all know how productive Niner linebackers have been in fantasy circles, so why not target one with a pretty clear path to relevance if (and only if) others ahead of him find their way to the trainer's table? Dee Winters has been a good second linebacker with Dre Greenlaw now in Denver, but he's now dealing with an injury. Robinson stepped in and took part in 28% of the snaps alongside Tatum Bethune, who is filling in for the leader of the Niner defense, Fred Warner. Robinson chipped in with seven total tackles in mop-up duty against the Texans this past week, and it looks like he would challenge Luke Gifford for snaps should Winters miss extended time. In large leagues where you start 3+ linebackers, he's worth a shot, if for no other reason than what we know about Niner linebackers.
Jeffrey Bassa, Kansas City
Leo Chenal is in his final contract year, and while he's performed admirably and will likely be re-signed, Bassa looked good in spot duty on Monday night, recording four total tackles and a forced fumble. Nick Bolton and, to some degree, Drue Tranquill, pretty much run the show in terms of fantasy relevance from the Chiefs' linebacker corps, but Bassa is an interesting prospect. A rookie out of Oregon, Bassa combines solid measurables with a path to relevance if Chenal were to be let go at the end of the season.
Buddy Johnson, Indianapolis
Like the situation with the Niners, the Colts linebackers have been a good source of steady fantasy output for several years. Zaire Franklin's stats have been unusually low. It's unclear what's going on there, but if you want to roll the dice on a Colt linebacker who suddenly got 35% of the snap share last week, Johnson is likely available in your league. Stranger things have happened.
