Sleepers at Quarterback

Drake Maye, New England (vs Las Vegas)

Maye might have been the second quarterback you drafted, but he might be your starter this week in a favorable home matchup. The maiden voyage of the McDaniels/Maye offense comes against a Raiders defense that has weaknesses to exploit, and the Patriots actually acquired some playmakers (Stefon Diggs, TreVeyon Henderson) that can turn those advantages into points. Maye should be more comfortable than he was at any point last year behind a rebuilt line. Expect a strong start.

Daniel Jones, Indianapolis (vs Miami)

Don't laugh. The Dolphins have five new starters in the secondary, including Storm Duck (and the return of Minkah Fitzpatrick). The Colts boast a strong running game, led by Jonathan Taylor, and possess considerable talent at wide receiver and tight end, with the addition of Tyler Warren and Adonai Mitchell following a strong summer. Shane Steichen won't be shy about using Jones as a runner by design either. Jones could have one of the biggest quarterback games of the week.

Joe Flacco, Cleveland (vs Cincinnati)

Flacco's play was poor enough in Indianapolis last year to get benched for a benched Anthony Richardson Sr., but he did inflate the fantasy stats of that talented passing game, something Richardson couldn't do. We know that he has chemistry with David Njoku, and Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman are competent enough to do damage against a Bengals defense that might be the worst in the league this year. The only worry here is whether Father Time catches up to Flacco with a quickness this year.

Bryce Young, Carolina (at Jacksonville)

Young's outlook took a hit when Jalen Coker went to injured reserve and Adam Thielen was dealt to the Vikings, but he gained the dependable Hunter Renfrow and is facing a Jaguars defense that is playing a new system under Anthony Campanile. The Panthers' offensive line is a little banged up, but already having a year in Dave Canales' offense under his belt should make a world of difference. Young was better than you remember for fantasy after the bye last year, and he could start hot this year.

Sleepers at Running Back

RJ Harvey, J.K. Dobbins, Denver (vs Tennessee)

All outward indications point to Dobbins getting the start, and he is probably the favorite to get any short rushing touchdowns. But Sean Payton will want to show off his new running back, and if the Broncos run away from the Titans (they should), Harvey is the favorite to get the second-half work. It's possible that both of these backs come in at low RB1 numbers this week in a blowout win that features a revamped Broncos backfield.
