The draft is almost here, but there's still a window to make deals before the tidal wave of meaningful NFL events changes our ideas of what is coming and, therefore, the values of players in our little game. What moves can you make before the draft to skate to where the puck is going to be?
If You're in the Late First of Your Rookie Draft, Be Willing to Trade Your Whole Draft for a Top 5 Pick
This class is weaker than usual at quarterback, running back, and tight end. There are 6-8 players to covet at most, and one or more of them could end up with Cleveland, Pittsburgh, or the Jets. Any running backs who go in the first four rounds and land in a good spot are going to move into the top 15 picks, if not the first round. Your picks in the later rounds aren't worth that much. Be willing to part with them to get up into the top five before the draft.
Cash in Malik Nabers While He Is a Top-Five Overall Player (and Make an Offer for Jaxson Dart)
Don't get me wrong, I still think Nabers is the real deal, but continued vagueness about when he will return, and the Giants' absolute insistence on targeting offensive playmakers at #5 (now and/or #10) is a bit ominous. Nabers is a top 5 overall player in many dynasty rankings. You can probably get your favorite player that isn't in the top five and a first for him. Maybe more if you find the right team. Nabers is going to be a great pro, but he's not getting to the JSN/Nacua/Chase level of production in a crowded offense with Jaxson Dart at quarterback. Of course, that won't stop Dart from having an even higher fantasy ceiling in a stacked offense.
