NFL teams have recently shifted to a committee approach to defensive line deployment, changing how IDP managers draft. Instead of having defensive linemen on each team play a near-every-down role, teams deploy players as pass-rush/run-down specialists. This has opened the door to more IDP streaming options.
Streaming positions is key to winning leagues. You can't nail down every roster position with studs. You'll always walk away with one position group feeling thin. This weekly article will cover IDP streaming matchups for the IDL and Edge positions to help you win your leagues.
Our process and reasoning for our IDP streaming options have been great. Unfortunately, it has not translated into production. We are heading into Week 3, and there have been some surprise early-season "breakouts". Let's take a look at the top IDP streaming options for Week 3.
IDP Streaming Option: IDL Brandon Dorlus, Atlanta Falcons
Matchup: Green Bay Packers - Ranked 31st in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
Dorlus is the early-season "cheat code" for IDP. He is listed as an IDL, but has been lining up on the edge as what the Falcons call a "big edge" because of their lack of depth at the position. Dorlus has not disappointed. He has an 18% pass-rush win rate, tied for 11th-best among all IDLs.
The Packers have allowed seven sacks this season. That ties for the third-most allowed in the first two weeks. Dorlus, with an IDL designation, lining up on the edge, and a high-level win rate, makes him an excellent IDP streaming option for Week 3.
IDP Streaming Option: IDL Christian Barmore, New England Patriots
Matchup: Jacksonville Jaguars - Ranked 21st in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
Barmore is just waiting to explode. He has been dominant as a pass rusher this season. Barmore currently owns an astounding 21.9% average pass-rush win rate across 46 pass-rush snaps. That's the highest among all IDLs, a full three percent higher than stud IDL Jeffery Simmons. He showed that pass-rushing prowess with a sack in Week 2.

The Jaguars have been one of the better offensive lines in passing sets, but Barmore has been a beast. This is not matchup-based. This is a case of starting a budding superstar. Barmore is a great IDP streaming option for Week 3, and likely a future weekly starter.
