Overrated Tight End With 5 Votes
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans
Phil Alexander: Juwan Johnson ranked fifth among tight ends in targets and third in receiving yards last season. His ADP overcorrected after Jordan Tyson was drafted and hasn't risen enough since Tyson's latest hamstring injury. Kellen Moore's fast-paced offense and Johnson's ability after the catch should keep him firmly in the mid-range TE1 mix.
Meng Song: Last year, Juwan Johnson was the TE8 in PPR points per game from Weeks 9 to 17 with Tyler Shough starting. And yet, he's being drafted outside of the top-15 tight ends in most drafts. The Saints ranked 6th in targets to the tight end position in 2025, and that shouldn't change significantly in 2026 given that Jordyn Tyson is expected to miss the first six to eight games with a hamstring strain. Johnson has a chance to again finish as a back-end fantasy TE1 in PPR, but he's an afterthought being drafted in the 12th round.
Gary Davenport: If you're the type who prefers fading the tight end position in 2026 (and for whatever reason I appear to be), then Juwan Johnson of the Saints needs to be on your target list. Johnson was one of eight tight ends who saw 100 targets last year. Johnson was top-five at the position in both catches and yards. And we have no real idea when rookie wideout Jordyn Tyson will be back—or anywhere close to 100 percent. At an ADP of TE16? All day, every day.
Bob Harris: Saints tight end Juwan Johnson posted career-high marks in targets (102), catches (77), yardage (889), and fantasy points last season. More importantly, he produced nine top-12 fantasy weeks (including four top-five performances and a TE1 overall Week 1), which tied for second at the position, en route to a TE8 overall finish. Johnson currently has a TE16 Average Draft Position (ADP) with an 11th-round price, indicating fantasy managers aren't buying into the upside. I am.
Craig Lakins: It's easily Juwan Johnson for me. On an offense that wants to play fast, there will be plenty of opportunities to go around. Johnson is coming off a 77-reception season in which he scored only three touchdowns. With second-year quarterback Tyler Shough taking a step forward, positive touchdown regression is in the cards. Rookie wideout Jordyn Tyson is set to miss the first few weeks of the season, making Johnson the de facto WR2 in New Orleans.
Underrated Tight End With 3 Votes
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia
Hutchinson Brown: Currently priced as a borderline top fifteen option, Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is a very underrated asset at tight end this season. He already was the TE7 in PPR last year, catching 60 passes for 591 yards and 11 touchdowns in 15 games. He's proven to be a valuable contributor, especially in the red zone. With AJ Brown out of the picture and Makai Lemon struggling to get fully up to speed so far in camp, Goedert has all the opportunity to repeat as a top-8 TE option.
Jeff Tefertiller: Dallas Goedert has finished as TE6 and TE10 the past two seasons (on a per-game basis), yet is being drafted as TE14. Fantasy managers underappreciate the steady players who produce year over year. The departure of A.J. Brown may actually improve Goedert's fantasy upside. He makes for a great fantasy starter at a cheap price.
David Zacharias: Dallas Goedert is being drafted around TE13 despite an expected increase in opportunity following A.J. Brown's departure. The 11 touchdowns he scored in 2025 will likely regress, but I expect an increase in targets that would offset that decline and push him toward 180 PPR points, providing a realistic path to a top-eight TE finish.
