The Consensus No. 2 QB
Lamar Jackson is currently the second quarterback off the board based on current ADP. The fantasy community is clearly unconcerned about a litany of risk factors, including Jackson's poor 2025 performance, his persistent injury history, and most importantly, an entirely new coaching staff, offensive playbook, and play-caller.

Should you follow suit in grabbing Jackson once Josh Allen comes off the board? The answer is: it depends. Even though I wouldn't do it, it's justifiable in a traditional one-quarterback format because replacement players are always available on the waiver wire. But it's far less advisable to anchor your roster with Jackson in 2QB leagues, where the drop-off to replacement level is markedly steeper.
A Spotty History
We all think of Jackson as an elite player, and for good reason. He's one of only 11 players in NFL history with multiple league MVP Awards.
| Multiple AP MVP Winners | Years Won |
|---|---|
| Peyton Manning (5) | 2003, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2013 |
| Aaron Rodgers (4) | 2011, 2014, 2020, 2021 |
| Jim Brown (3) | 1957, 1958, 1965 |
| Johnny Unitas (3) | 1959, 1964, 1967 |
| Brett Favre (3) | 1995, 1996, 1997 |
| Tom Brady (3) | 2007, 2010, 2017 |
| Joe Montana (2) | 1989, 1990 |
| Steve Young (2) | 1992, 1994 |
| Kurt Warner (2) | 1999, 2001 |
| Patrick Mahomes II (2) | 2018, 2022 |
| Lamar Jackson (2) | 2019, 2023 |
But in terms of fantasy performance, Jackson hasn't always matched his top-end ADP. In fact, he's finished outside the top 12 in three of the last five seasons, culminating in his 2025 collapse.
