I can predict the future.
It was a power I developed after, as a child, I fell into a vat of whatever it is that's in the middle of Oreos. Once my parents realized my gift, I was immediately pelted with requests for winning lottery numbers, but somewhere deep down, I knew that was wrong--so I ran away.
Eventually, I found my way to the Tibetan monastery of Fullav Krap. There, the monks taught me to hone my abilities. To dial out both the noise from trillions of potential timelines and to resist the urge to use my gift for my own selfish benefit. Through meditation and spiritual enlightenment, I was able to focus my precognitive powers on one, all-important area.
Fantasy football predictions.
Seriously, the only reason I am ever wrong is that I have tried for years to blend in--to not stand out too much from all the other analysts who do not possess access to the all-seeing eye of BunchaBunk. But, with the beginning of the 2025 season just around the corner, I have decided to cast aside my facade of fallibility.
So, as you gather around the picnic table or get ready to fire up the grill on this Labor Day, here are 10 bold predictions for the 2025 season that are guaranteed to be 100 percent accurate.
Probably.
Maybe.
Oh, and an old hot dog commercial.
Enjoy the holiday. Bye-bye summer.
Bold Quarterback Predictions
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will surpass 4,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards on the way to finishing as fantasy football's No. 1 quarterback--by a sizable margin.
What? Not bold enough? Give me a few minutes to warm up--don't want to wind up with a migraine. Daniels really doesn't need that big a boost relative to last year's numbers--just over 400 passing yards and 100 passing yards. But if Daniels is going to lead all quarterbacks in fantasy points, he's going to have to get a sizable bump in last year's 25 touchdown passes--10th in the NFL.
With wide receiver Terry McLaurin all smiles after his new contract and Deebo Samuel Sr. also in the nation's capital, he'll get it, besting Buffalo's Josh Allen and Baltimore's Lamar Jackson in fantasy points. Daniels may not be the best value among quarterbacks in 2025. But Hail to the King.
Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars will be this year's Baker Mayfield--the quarterback drafted in low-end QB2 territory who will flirt with top-five fantasy production.
Last year, Mayfield had a fantasy ADP of QB21 entering the season. He finished the year third in passing yards, tied for second in the NFL with 41 touchdown passes, and third in fantasy points at the position. It may not be fair to expect quite that level of production from Lawrence in 2025, but the fifth-year pro is similarly primed to exceed his modest asking price this year by a mile.
Like Mayfield, Lawrence has the passing-game weapons to have a big year in 2025 on Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter. Like Mayfield, Lawrence wasn't drafted first overall just because his hair's pretty. And like Mayfield in 2024, Lawrence will spend the 2025 season under the tutelage of quarterback whisperer Liam Coen.
Giddyup.
