IDP Streaming Matchups For IDL and Edge: Week 9

NFL teams have recently shifted their focus to a committee approach to defensive line deployment, which has changed how IDP managers draft. Instead of having defensive linemen on each team play a near every-down role, players are deployed as pass-rush/run-down specialists. This opened the door for more potential IDP streaming options.

Being able to stream positions is key to winning leagues. It is impossible to nail down every roster position with studs. You always walk away with one of your position groups feeling thin. This weekly article will cover IDP streaming matchups for the IDL and Edge positions to help you win your leagues.

Week 8 was another successful week for IDP streaming defensive linemen. The one matchup we missed was streaming Bengals players against the Jets. Otherwise, they all hit. Laiatu Latu finished with two tackles and half of a sack. Dexter Lawrence II had three tackles and half of a sack. Our sleepers truly woke up. Odafe Oweh is thriving in his new role and had three tackles, one for a loss, and a sack. T'Vondre Sweat filled in nicely for Jeffrey Simmons with two tackles, one for a loss, and a sack. Here are the top IDP streaming options for Week 9.

IDP Streaming Option: IDL Justin Eboigbe, Los Angeles Chargers

Matchup: Tennessee Titans - Ranked 10th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

Eboige has worked his way into weekly starter status in leagues where you must start a defensive tackle. He has also worked his way into streaming status in the leagues that do not. Eboigbe has amassed 15 tackles, four for a loss, and four sacks over his last four games. What a sigh of relief for the Chargers. Their interior pass rush has been nonexistent for a while now. Eboigbe makes this defense that much better.

We heard the coaches praise about the development of Chargers DL Justin Eboigbe during the summer and we have seen that growth and production throughout the season.

His Week 9 matchup could not be better. The Chargers take on the lowly Titans. The Titans' offense has yet to find consistency and cannot get things going. Outside of Chimere Dike, their receivers have been average at best. The Titans have allowed the most sacks this season, with 34. Keep riding the on-fire bandwagon that Eboigbe is charging. He is an excellent IDP streaming option for Week 9.

IDP Streaming Option: IDL Osa Odighizuwa, Dallas Cowboys

Matchup: Arizona Cardinals - Ranked 23rd in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

Odighiszuwa may only have one sack on the season, though he was routinely in the backfield. He created 17 pressures in the first five games of the season. That has declined to just three pressures over the last three. The previous three offensive lines he has faced have been better than average offensive lines, so do not read too much into it. This week provides an excellent matchup for Odighizuwa to get back on track.

The Cowboys will face the Cardinals in Week 9. The Cardinals have allowed the seventh-most sacks on the season, with 24, despite already having their bye. They average three-and-a-half sacks on a per-game basis. Kyler Murray is beat up and should not be as mobile as he typically is. Odighizuwa has a get-right week and is a fantastic IDP streaming option.

IDP Streaming Option: Edge Dre'Mont Jones, Tennessee Titans
