Welcome to Week 2 of the 2025 Footballguys Roundtable. Our intrepid panel of fantasy pundits discusses and debates four topics every week. We split the conversation into separate features.
This week's roundtable features these four topics:
- Jacksonville Jaguars Backfield
- Undrafted and Late-Round Week 1 Performers
- Rookie RB ADP vs. Reality
- Thrilling and Horrifying Week 1 Performers
Let's roll.
Matt Waldman: The Eagles traded a 5th and 6th for Tank Bigsby on Monday after Travis Etienne Jr. lit up the Carolina Panthers defense. If the negotiations began Monday rather than leading into the weekend, Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen Jr.'s performances likely eased the deal along.
Share with our readers your assessment of the present and future roles and fantasy values for Etienne, Tuten, and Allen for this year.
Dave Kluge: The preseason reports about Tank Bigsby lighting up practice with the first-team were likely desperate hopes for a trade rather than factual reporting. Bigsby was buried in Week 1, getting his first touch after Etienne, Tuten, and Allen all got theirs.
It's a bit shocking to see the Eagles give up a 5th and 6th for Bigsby, but Howie Roseman has never shied away from nabbing formidable players tumbling down a depth chart.
Going forward, the Jaguars appear content to lean on Etienne. But Liam Coen has displayed a penchant for a hot-hand approach in his backfields. Last year, Rachaad White averaged 14.1 opportunities per game through Week 15. Over the final three weeks of the season, that was suddenly relegated to less than half of his previous workload while rookie Bucky Irving saw 22.3 opportunities per game.
Sean Tucker even had a random 17-touch game sprinkled in. So while Etienne looks like the clear top dog now, this situation could be a bit more mercurial than we want. Tuten is an electric rookie whom the team has raved about.
Expect to see him involved. Allen plays the running back position like a receiver, running crispy routes out of the backfield. And if either looks good, Coen won't shy away from putting more on their plate.
