Hi Folks,
We do a ton of insightful, thoughtful, and serious features here at Footballguys with smart people thinking deeply for you.
This is not one of those features.
This is Random Shots, and it's a few pages of me sharing all the random goofiness from this week. With maybe a music note and sometimes a "soap box" wrap at the end.
Here's to Football.

Wrapping with this one.
You've probably seen the play from Sunday where Arizona's Emari Demercado broke off a huge run for what should have been a touchdown and then fumbled the ball at the goal line. At the time, Arizona was up by 15 points, but they went on to lose the game.
After this fumble by Emari Demercado the Titans scored 16 straight and WON the game against the Cardinals!!π€―pic.twitter.com/okd1O5m6ZH
— WagerWire (@WagerWire) October 5, 2025
Paris Johnson Jr. was one of the first players to talk to him after the fumble.
Paris Johnson Jr. came over to console Emari Demercado right after his costly fumble at the goal line:
— Blake Niemann (@Blakes_Take2) October 6, 2025
"I wanted to be one of the first people to find him on the sideline...Make sure he's not catching looks and stares and people mumbling...I didn't want him to hear any of that." https://t.co/z3VsDonIBs pic.twitter.com/ia6yWWqQAc
Here's how Demercado handled himself after the game:
Emari Demercado took accountability for his costly fumble in the Cardinals embarrassing loss to the Titans:
— Blake Niemann (@Blakes_Take2) October 6, 2025
“I just made a mistake. There’s really no excuse. Just let the ball go through…I just got to be smarter.”@FOX10Phoenix pic.twitter.com/HsD1PBooWM
First thought: I'm not sure it was even a fumble, but that's beside the point for this. Clearly, this was a huge mistake by Demercado.
Second thought. I love how Paris Johnson Jr. had his back. Be that kind of friend and teammate for your people.
And lastly, I appreciate Demercado owning the mistake and vowing to be better. That's all he can do. Own it, move forward, get better, and do all you can to not let it happen again.
And as usual, this is a real-world lesson. We probably don't make mistakes with millions of people watching. But we'll make them. And how we respond to those mistakes makes all the difference.
Rock on.
Thank you for being part of this goofy journey with us.
And thanks to Footballguys Keith Overton, Phil Alexander, Dave Kluge, Sigmund Bloom, Hutchison Brown, and Clayton Gray for the help. If you've got a Random Shot of your own, email me at bryant@footballguys.com.

Peace and Grace to you.
