Hi Folks,

We do a ton of insightful, thoughtful, and serious features here at Footballguys with smart people thinking deeply for you.

This is not one of those features.

This is Random Shots, and it's a few pages of me sharing all the random goofiness from this week. With maybe a music note and sometimes a "soap box" wrap at the end.

Here's to Football.

J

This one keeps giving.

He's doing it.

I had doubts. But he's doing it.

Related: This is so fire.

Predicting the NFL is a humbling endeavor...

We'll see.

Amidst the fun stuff with Flacco, it's easy to forget there are real friendships and relationships in all this.

Sweet post from David Njoku.

Brian Daboll sees it too.

My guy Heath Cummings with a crazy stat.

It's a little early to be at this stage, but here we are.

Music Note this week is an old favorite.

John Craigie is a sweet picture of chill. "I Am California" is one of my favorites from him.

"You tried to drown your sorrows.

"You shouldn't have taught them how to swim..."

Plus, it's just a beautiful video.

I could have done half a dozen different versions of this meme.

When things are looking bad, remember this:

"With their loss to the Titans, the Cardinals are now the first team in NFL history to lose three straight games with their opponent kicking a field goal as time expired."

Dang.

God bless you, Cardinals fans.

Thank you to CBS Sports for that one.

Related, God bless you, Giants fans too.

I love how giddy Jacory Croskey-Merritt is here talking to Tom Brady. This guy is easy to root for.

I know the league wants the coaches to wear the latest merchandise to help promote NFLShop.com sales. But there has to be a limit on this kind of thing.

No hat has ever less fit a man than this one on Harbaugh.

Never underestimate the power of a chip on the shoulder.

All good afterward, though. Winning will do that.

Synchronization in the Matrix.

Thanks to Hutchison Brown for that one.

Holly Rowe showing how a true pro operates. Never dropped the microphone and gave an instant update.

Thanks to Clayton Gray for that one.

Some teams whine about injuries.

Some teams do the best they can with what they have.

Times have changed.

That Texas vs. Penn State National Championship game talk was maybe a little premature.

If you faced a team with Darren Waller this week, this will resonate.

Just going to drop this one right here...

I need to report a murder.

Obviously, it didn't go their way, but I low-key love Vandy practicing the Victory Formation in warmups in front of the Alabama crowd.

Fair question.

Mac Jones living his best life. Arm massage while getting a pre-peeled banana.

University of Tennessee fans can relate to this.

I thought the same thing...

My grandson loves Spider-Man. His new favorite player is Brian Burns.

Rams never had a chance...

And a classic line when asked why he wore a suit.

A.J. Brown with some Travis Hunter cornerback vibes.

Related: I'm not sure I've ever seen a QB do this on a Hail Mary pass, but I like the effort.

Can you imagine if the ball got tipped back to the 10 and Hurts had caught it?

I felt this.

Guy looked like a video game.

Wyoming showing off.

Thanks to Clayton Gray for that one.

Wrapping with this one.

You've probably seen the play from Sunday where Arizona's Emari Demercado broke off a huge run for what should have been a touchdown and then fumbled the ball at the goal line. At the time, Arizona was up by 15 points, but they went on to lose the game.

Paris Johnson Jr. was one of the first players to talk to him after the fumble.

Here's how Demercado handled himself after the game:

First thought:  I'm not sure it was even a fumble, but that's beside the point for this. Clearly, this was a huge mistake by Demercado.

Second thought. I love how Paris Johnson Jr. had his back. Be that kind of friend and teammate for your people.

And lastly, I appreciate Demercado owning the mistake and vowing to be better. That's all he can do. Own it, move forward, get better, and do all you can to not let it happen again.

And as usual, this is a real-world lesson. We probably don't make mistakes with millions of people watching. But we'll make them. And how we respond to those mistakes makes all the difference.

Rock on.

Thank you for being part of this goofy journey with us.

And thanks to Footballguys Keith Overton, Phil Alexander, Dave Kluge, Sigmund Bloom, Hutchison Brown, and Clayton Gray for the help. If you've got a Random Shot of your own, email me at bryant@footballguys.com.

Thanks for playing along, and I hope you make the most of whatever you're doing in your life. Love your neighbor and stick together.

Peace and Grace to you.

J
