Week 5 Results- Loss: 1-4
My Week 5 lineup took a giant risk in Week 5, and it did not end up paying out. Fading Jahmyr Gibbs was the complete wrong decision. The thinking was that getting multiple players in that game instead of just one, but when that one has 207 yards from scrimmage and 2 touchdowns, the lineup was dead before it had a chance. Hindsight is always 20/20, but fading a player in such a premier matchup was just a mistake. However, it could not have gone worse from a game script perspective.
The game ended up being a blowout which was an absolute crushing blow to Amon-Ra St. Brown's upside as the Lions did not need to throw the ball to win that game. It also didn't help that despite two passing touchdowns to tight ends, they were to Teagan Quintoriano instead of Trey McBride who was another player that was paid up for in lieu of Gibbs.
If that game is played 10 times, it was definitely the optimal approach to take Gibbs, but the way that game panned out was the most optimal scenario. It could not have gone any better for the take Gibbs side of things. The fade Gibbs lineups likely win four times out of 10 if they played again.
