News About NFC Teams
Atlanta Falcons News
Kyle Pitts Sr. signed his one-year, $15.045 million franchise tag deal.
Why It Matters: Pitts is set to be one of the top targets in the offense designed by self-proclaimed "tight end aficionado" Kevin Stefanski. The one-year deal could allow Pitts to earn a market-setting long-term deal if he is successful with Tua Tagovailoa and/or Michael Penix Jr. at quarterback. He is a good value at his current ADP of TE7, going off the board in the 8th/9th rounds of early best-ball drafts.
Falcons starting right tackle Kaleb McGary announced his retirement. The Falcons signed OT Jawaan Taylor to a one-year, $5 million deal.
Why It Matters: McGary signed a two-year, $30 million extension last year, so this comes as a bit of a surprise. The Falcons immediately signed Taylor at a relative bargain salary for a 28-year-old player who has been a starter every year of his career. McGary missed all of the 2025 season with a leg injury, and his replacement, Elijah Wilkinson (who signed with Arizona in free agency), wasn't a standout performer. The Falcons are returning the other four 2025 starters on the offensive line, so the team should be able to weather this development.
Chicago Bears News
Head coach Ben Johnson said, "We need to continue to get the ball in (WR Luther Burden III's) hands as often as we possibly can."
Why It Matters: One of the burning questions for fantasy players to answer in 2026 drafts is whether to draft Burden, fellow starting WR Rome Odunze, or starting TE Colston Loveland. All three are going within 10 picks of each other in the 4th/5th round range of early best ball drafts, but it's unlikely that all three will be hits. The tightly packed ADP group indicates fantasy players are unsure of who will emerge as the #1 target in the offense, but this comment from Johnson helps make the case that it will be Burden, who is currently going first off the board of the trio.
New York Giants News
Head coach John Harbaugh said WR Malik Nabers' timeline to be ready to play "is going to be in training camp and closer to the season."
Why It Matters: We shouldn't be surprised if Nabers opens camp on the PUP list after hearing this from Harbaugh. Nabers suffered a torn meniscus in addition to the ACL injury in October, so the Giants are going to be cautious and patient. The expectation remains that Nabers will be ready for Week 1. He is currently going in the middle of the second round of early best ball drafts, which is about 10 picks later than he was going in 2025 fantasy drafts.
Head coach John Harbaugh said he is "certain TE Isaiah Likely going to be able to put up the numbers you're talking about, the stats. That wasn't part of the thing in Baltimore because of the supporting cast, so to speak."
Why It Matters: Likely is one of five players to follow Harbaugh from Baltimore to New York, and he was the most expensive of the five by a large margin. Harbaugh's comments indicate that Mark Andrews presence was holding Likely back from being as productive as could have been in Baltimore.. Likely is going off of the board around pick 150 as the 17th tight end taken in early best ball drafts, which appears to be a value in light of the previous relationship between coach and player.
Philadelphia Eagles News
Mike Sando of The Athletic reports "(NFL) Execs expect the Patriots to acquire receiver A.J. Brown from Philadelphia in June, once the salary-cap implications become more tenable for the Eagles."
Why It Matters: Another week, another AJ Brown trade possibility "update". Sando is well-connected, so we should treat this report as credible. It makes more sense to project and rank the Eagles offense without Brown and the Patriots offense with Brown going forward until the tone and tenor of news about his trade market changes significantly between now and June. Probable 2026 Eagles #1 receiver DeVonta Smith looks like a great pick at his current fourth-round ADP.
