Week 1 is the big reveal. The offseason of speculation splats like a bug on a windshield, leaving us all to assess the fallout immediately. Dynasty staffers Maurile Tremblay, Jason Wood, Andy Hicks, Ryan Weisse, Matthew Montgomery, and Dan Hindery hit their movers coming out of Week 1.

The Dynasty staff gathered to discuss the biggest risers and fallers among multiple quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends in rankings. Check out the Footballguys Dynasty Football show with Dave Kluge and me for more Dynasty content. We produce three episodes weekly, covering a range of relevant Dynasty trends.

Dynasty Movement at Quarterback

Daniel Jones, Indianapolis

Maurile Tremblay: Week 1 could mark a dramatic inflection point in Jones' dynasty value. After being written off by most managers following his New York exit, Jones exploded in his Colts debut: 272 passing yards, a passing score, and -- most importantly for fantasy -- two rushing touchdowns on seven carries. The Colts appear committed to unlocking his dual-threat potential, and his strong offensive line and surrounding skill talent will prop up his fantasy value. What had been a stagnant or declining dynasty profile is suddenly rebounding sharply, and managers who acquired Jones as a throw-in or held at the bottom of their roster could find themselves with a legitimate starter or high-end superflex asset.

Jason Wood: One week shouldn't erase an entire career of offensive inefficiency, but we can't deny that Jones has had a terrific stretch. First, he was named the Colts' starter, and head coach Shane Steichen went out of his way to indicate it would not be a short leash. He said Jones has earned a long run as the starter and should not worry about Anthony Richardson Sr. waiting in the wings. Whether you buy Steichen's endorsement or not, Jones did himself a favor by putting on an offensive clinic in Week One. He has always been a dangerous runner, but he also showed a willingness to throw into tight windows that he rarely displayed as a Giant. Jones moves from a backup tier to an every-week starter tier in superflex formats.

Ryan Weisse: Like many, I left Jones for dead after this terrible 2024 and ouster from New York. His starting for the Colts didn't really cross my mind at first, as they had so much invested in Richardson. After what we saw in Week 1, Jones should hold this job for at least the next month or two. In Dynasty, a month or two is not excellent job security. Still, with the weapons and potential offense in Indianapolis, Jones could be very fantasy relevant if he keeps the job. He was outside my Top 40; now he cracks my Top 30, jumping a lot of fringe players along the way.

Andy Hicks: Many expected Richardson to get the first shot, given the draft capital the team used on him. Jones outplayed him in the preseason, though, and looks like a different player than what we saw in New York. Then again, it was against an awful-looking Dolphins team. He does get a reasonable uptick in rankings, but six years versus one game teaches us to be cautious.

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami

Jason Wood: Could the vibes be any worse in Miami? After a lackluster Week One showing, the post-game press conference set off alarm bells. Coach McDaniel struggled to explain why his offense remains off track and offered little confidence that he could turn things around. Many of the team's key players looked listless and disengaged. Has this team already given up on its coaches? If not, they need to turn things around immediately. Either way, with the 2025 Dolphins looking like a repeat of the 2024 version, Tagovailoa can no longer be trusted in lineups until further notice.

Andy Hicks: A franchise expected to struggle looks even worse than expected. And the team doesn't look to have any answers. Tagovailoa played terribly, and his explosive weapons from 2023 aren't playing anywhere near that level. On the bright side, the Dolphins have matchups against the Patriots, Jets, Panthers, and Browns over the next six weeks. Those teams will be looking forward to the matchup as well. Add in concussion concerns, and I cannot see this ship turning around.

Tyson Bagent, Chicago

Jason Wood: Many long-time NFL starters were entirely off the radar before moving from backup to starter in the blink of an eye. Kirk Cousins was once Robert Griffin's clear backup. No one knew who Tony Romo was until he got an opportunity. The greatest quarterback of all time, Tom Brady, may never have become a starter if Drew Bledsoe had not gotten hurt. The point is that what may seem unlikely today can become reality tomorrow. While it is far too early to give up on Caleb Williams, the clock is ticking, and questions remain. Chicago beat writers have been effusive in their praise of Bagent, and it seems he has his teammates on his side as well. Now is the time to bump Bagent up to the higher end of No. 2 quarterbacks, because he could be a starter within the next season or two.

Justin Fields, NY Jets

Matt Montgomery: Fields delivered a standout performance, capitalizing on his opportunities with a high volume of fantasy points through diverse contributions. He displayed notable composure and decisiveness, appearing more comfortable within the offense than at any prior point in his career. If Fields sustains this level of play throughout the season, he could emerge as a formidable matchup challenge and a reliable, set-and-forget option for fantasy lineups.

Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh

Matt Montgomery: Rodgers demonstrated he remains a formidable talent, defying concerns about his age, injuries, and media scrutiny over the past three years. In a standout performance, he threw four touchdown passes against a New York Jets defense known for its elite players across all levels. Operating within Arthur Smith's offensive system in Pittsburgh, Rodgers showcased the precision and command reminiscent of his MVP-caliber seasons. If he sustains this level of play, he could approach the elite form of his recent MVP campaigns.

Justin Herbert, LA Chargers

Dan Hindery: Herbert is still only 27, so age is not a factor compared to slightly younger quarterbacks ranked in a similar tier. His Week 1 performance was enough for me to move him up a couple of spots in my rankings. He threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns against a strong Chiefs pass defense and added 32 rushing yards on seven carries. The Chargers had the fifth-highest neutral pass rate over the final 12 games of 2024 (once Herbert was healthy), and the early signs in 2025 point to another pass-heavy approach. If Herbert continues to be used as a runner, he has clear QB1 upside.
