IDP Dynasty Sleepers: Week 16

We are down to the final weeks of the season! The purpose of this article is to highlight a handful of linebackers, defensive linemen, and defensive backs that might be available in your dynasty leagues. I sample my own 12-, 14-, and 16-team leagues to get a cross-section of players who could be free agents in your leagues. Let's take a look at this week's suggestions.

Dynasty Sleeper Linebackers

Jamal Hill, Houston

Azeez Al-Shaair is signed through next season, but he has missed time due to injuries and suspensions. Plus, E.J. Speed and Jake Hansen are really just depth guys at this point. Hill has nice size at 6-foot-0 and 225 lbs., and hails out of Oregon. He's only been in on spot duty, but looks the part. As the 2026 Texans roster takes shape over the off-season, Hill might be a guy you want stashed on your taxi squad.

John Bullock, Tampa Bay

Like Hill, Bullock is a rookie who's only seen spot duty this year, but we all know how productive the two linebackers are for the Bucs' scheme, and Lavonte David is on a one-year deal for 2025 and is at the ripe age of 35 (and will be 36 soon). He can't play forever. SirVocea Dennis has been pretty good for the Bucs, but he can't make ALL the tackles. Bullock is currently slotted right behind David at the left inside 'backer spot and could be a name to watch, especially if David hangs up the cleats in the off-season.

Cooper McDonald, Kansas City

And we'll round out this week's linebacker selections with another rookie. While his position happens to be the strong-side linebacker (which isn't typically great for fantasy production), we've seen Leo Chenal put up modest numbers from that spot in the past. If anything were to happen to Nick Bolton or Drue Tranquill, McDonald could find himself in a nice position. Worth monitoring over the off-season.
