Reasons QB Sam Darnold Could Be a Sleeper
- Jason Wood: Darnold had a breakthrough season last year in Minnesota, and while he's now on a new team, he'll be running a very similar system under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. Despite that continuity and his strong 2024 showing, Darnold is being drafted as one of the last starters off the board. There are at least half a dozen quarterbacks going ahead of him who shouldn't be.
- Julia Papworth: I know he collapsed at the end of last season, but he is going undrafted in most 1QB leagues. He should finish better than his ADP.
- Jeff Bell: We all want to see the potential cheat code Jalen Milroe, but the coaching staff has insisted on a redshirt season. This is Darnold's team in a comfortable system.
- Andy Hicks: Ranking Darnold so low seems like a gift for fantasy managers. If he plays like he did for 90% of 2024 he will be terrific. He could even be a fantasy starter again.
