Reasons WR Emeka Egbuka Could Be a Sleeper
- Maurile Tremblay: First-round polish brings cheap exposure to a rookie target spike if either veteran slows.
- Mauricio Gutierrez: With his talent, he could emerge like a cannonball from a pirate ship.
- Jeff Haseley: If Egbuka is as advertised, he'll find a way into the game plan, and the targets will follow.
- Jeff Bell: Egbuka was slated for a redshirt rookie season given the talent on the roster, but early camp returns suggest he may be too talented to deny.
- Meng Song: Egbuka projects for a fantasy-friendly slot role and volume alongside two older wide receivers, one of whom is coming off a major injury.
- David Zacharias: First-round draft capital, strong preseason buzz, and aging incumbent WR starters suggest ample upside opportunity.
- Craig Lakins: With an aging Mike Evans and an oft-injured Chris Godwin leading the receiving core, there should be ample opportunity for Egbuka. He's the most polished receiver of this rookie class.
- Julia Papworth: Perhaps the most pro-ready wide receiver coming out of the draft this year, Egbuka could be buried on the depth chart, but a slow Chris Godwin return and a demonstration of those strong Ohio State skills could skyrocket him quickly and make him a value.
