Top 10 FanDuel DFS Plays for NFL Week 6
With the Texans and Jaguars playing overseas Sunday morning, FanDuel's main slate is down to 10 games. The board is top heavy. Bills at Raiders has a 53.5 total, Bears at Falcons and Cardinals at Rams both sit at 51.5, and the Rams carry the highest implied team total of the week at 32 points. A long list of starters won't play, including Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, Baker Mayfield, Jeremiyah Love and Rashee Rice. Below are 10 plays worth building around, broken down by position with the reasoning behind each one.
Quarterback
Matthew Stafford, L.A. Rams, $7,800 (vs. Arizona)
Stafford threw for 383 yards and three touchdowns without an interception in last week's overtime loss, and he gets the softest pass defense on the slate. Arizona ranks 30th against quarterbacks, allowing 23.2 FanDuel points per game, and gives up 32.4 points per game overall, the most in the league. The Rams are 12.5 point favorites, so there's some risk the game is decided early and his volume drops in the fourth quarter. Even so, he's going to be the most popular quarterback on the board, and the matchup backs that up.
Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints, $7,500 (at New York Giants)
Shough is coming off one of the worst games of his career against Minnesota, which should keep his ownership down. Before that game, he had topped 250 passing yards in every start, and the Giants allow the ninth most passing touchdowns in the league. This game carries a 45.5 total with the line close to a pick'em, so both teams should be throwing. There's real risk here. The Giants' defense has six interceptions, and Shough has thrown five. Chris Olave is also questionable with an illness, though he appears likely to play. If Olave is active, Shough is a strong bounce back candidate at a price below the top tier.
Running Back
Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons, $9,300 (vs. Chicago)
Robinson leads the NFL with 580 rushing yards and ranks third with 5.7 yards per carry. In three games with Michael Penix Jr.. he has 425 total yards and four touchdowns. Chicago allows 4.4 yards per carry and gave up two rushing touchdowns to Green Bay last week, and the Bears' front is missing both starting defensive ends and its top linebacker. With a 51.5 point total and only a 1.5 point spread, Atlanta should stay committed to him from start to finish. He's the most expensive running back on FanDuel, and in this matchup the price is worth it.
Ken Walker III III, Kansas City Chiefs, $8,900 (vs. L.A. Chargers)
Walker has piled up 99 touches, 621 yards and six touchdowns in four games with Kansas City. The Chargers are 0-5 and lost both starting tackles last week, which hurts them on offense more than defense. It does mean they're unlikely to keep pace, and a 7.5 point Chiefs favorite should lean on Walker to close the game out. With Rashee Rice out, Kansas City has even fewer options to spread the ball around, so the workload should hold.
D'Andre Swift, Chicago Bears, $6,600 (at Atlanta)
Swift is the cheap way into the Bears side of one of the best games on the slate. Kyle Monangai is out again with a toe injury, which leaves Swift as the clear lead back for a second straight week. Last week he had nine carries for 43 yards and a touchdown and caught four of five targets for 30 yards, and that was in a 31-7 loss to Green Bay where the game got away from Chicago early. This week sets up much better. The Bears have a 26.5 point implied total in a 51.5 point game, and Swift is off the injury report after dealing with hip and knee issues. Caleb Williams practiced in full all week and is expected back, which should give the offense a lot more life than it had in Green Bay. At $6,600 he's $2,700 cheaper than Bijan Robinson in the same game.
Wide Receiver
Puka Nacua, L.A. Rams, $9,000 (vs. Arizona)
Nacua has the top target share on the slate, with 17 of the Rams' 24 targets last week. Arizona ranks 29th against wide receivers, allowing 32.5 FanDuel points per game, and has given up the most receiving touchdowns to the position (10). He's the most expensive receiver on the board and should be one of the most popular, but the matchup and the role both justify it. The same blowout concern that applies to Stafford applies here too.
