Joshua Palmer (WR-BUF) -The cat may already be out of the bag on Palmer, who has two long scores in two games. Now with Keon Coleman nursing an ankle injury, we could see Palmer get more snaps and targets. Considering his conversion rate so far this season, it might not take much more opportunity for Palmer to be worth playing every week in deep leagues given the outlier nature of this offense.
Chase Brown (RB-CIN) - The Bengals haven't fully gotten comfortable being a defense-led team, but they should take a big step towards asserting themselves as bullies on both sides of the ball against the rival Steelers. Brown had a massive game against Patrick Graham's Raiders defense in 2024 with 157 total yards and a score (if you're wondering, Joe Burrow threw five touchdowns that day). The Steelers defense has allowed a running back to get loose in each of the first two weeks. Brown should make it three in a row on the road.
Drew Allar (QB-PIT) - Aaron Rodgers looked like the oldest quarterback in the league in an embarrassing game at Foxboro. The Steelers have a tough draw this week against the Bengals in what should amount to another pantsing of Rodgers in front of 68 thousand or so people and a television audience. Mason Rudolph will replace Rodgers when the injuries pile up, and Will Howard is the #3 quarterback. But Allar is the potential quarterback of the future and could start Week 1 next year if the team is self-aware about where it is in its franchise arc. Allar's upside is much higher than a typical third-round pick. He's a prototypical size/arm/athleticism prospect who was all over the place at Penn State. He's the one to stash in superflex dynasty leagues.
Fernando Mendoza (QB-LV) - We've been so impressed by Ashton Jeanty, Tre Tucker, and Kirk Cousins making hay in the Klint Kubiak offense through two weeks that we forgot to note that all this came without Brock Bowers. Yes, it was against poor defenses, but that's what good offenses are supposed to do against bad defenses. It's only two games - we saw it fall apart after two amazing games to begin Kubiak's stint in New Orleans, which, ironically, is where this week's game is - but it is very promising for the long term, which is where Mendoza comes in. He is gaining value even though he isn't playing... yet.
Jordan Love (QB-GB), Matthew Golden (WR-GB), Tucker Kraft (TE-GB), Kaleb Johnson (RB-GB) - By the time you read this, the Packers may have already had a very successful home opener on Thursday night against a beleaguered Falcons team, closing the door on buying these players. The upcoming schedule (TB CHI DAL DET CAR) should allow this offense to build momentum, so consider making a buy offense next week. Johnson could become a physical presence in the run game for an offense that sorely needs one. Kraft is just getting started after shaking off the rust from ACL surgery, and losing Jayden Reed should put more on his plate. Golden looks like one of the top two or three breakout wide receivers in the opening two weeks. Be willing to "overpay" for him, especially in dynasty. Love is making things happen with the line falling apart in front of him. The Packers are a top organization and should be able to settle that situation down against this easier stretch of defenses coming up.
Kaelon Black (RB-SF), De'Zhaun Stribling (WR-SF) - The 49ers are showing us that as long as they have Brock Purdy, Kyle Shanahan, Trent Williams, and George Kittle, this offense is going to hum. Stribling and Black both look (looked in Stribling's case) like everything they hoped the rookies would be when they drafted them against Big Draft's consensus board rankings. The chances of them having a long productive stretch with the 49ers have gone up after the team's highly successful start.
Sam Darnold (QB-SEA), Rashid Shaheed (WR-SEA) - Jaxon Smith-Njigba can't keep doing this, can he? Eventually teams will bracket him - not that it will necessarily significantly lower his fantasy value - but that would make Darnold's job a lot easier and open up the deep shots to Shaheed, who has a chance to run wild in the Commanders' secondary this weekend. The Seattle offense will keep improving even without Klint Kubiak.
