Welcome to Week 9 of the 2026 Footballguys Roundtable. Our intrepid panel of fantasy pundits discusses and debates four topics every week. We split the conversation into separate features.
This week's roundtable features these four topics:
- Ravens' Skill Talent, Post-Lamar Jackson
- WRs to Start-Flex-Hold-Drop
- Nebulous Depth Charts
- Jonah Coleman's Outlook
Let's roll...
Matt Waldman: Pick a receiver for each category
Tell us how you slot them for your fantasy roster.
Maurile Tremblay: Start Justin Jefferson. Kyler Murray has been sailing throws over Jefferson's head, and Jefferson has only one 100-yard game in his last 18.
That said, Murray keeps throwing to him, and Jefferson still makes more than his fair share of spectacular catches. His frustration after his 33-yard game in Detroit was obvious, which puts pressure on the team to get him the ball more. He belongs in your lineup every week.
Flex Stefon Diggs. Terry McLaurin's torn patellar tendon makes Diggs Washington's only established receiver. Jayden Daniels is back from his elbow injury. Diggs is a red-zone target.
He's only a flex, though, because Treylon Burks led the team in receiving yards against the Eagles, rookie Antonio Williams keeps earning more snaps, and Daniels' timing with his receivers still looks a bit off.
Hold Zay Flowers. Flowers has talent, but he's at the mercy of whoever plays quarterback in Baltimore.
On Thursday against Jacksonville, that's likely Joe Fagnano, so expect little fantasy production. Bench him for now, but don't drop him.
Once Jacoby Brissett, whose trade should be completed this weekend, takes over after the mini-bye, Flowers is a weekly starter again.
Drop Tre Tucker. You'll occasionally see Tucker rack up fantasy points in garbage time, but Kubiak's offense sends the ball to the tight ends and running back first, so the receivers are third in line.
A possible switch to rookie Fernando Mendoza at quarterback adds uncertainty. Tucker's low floor makes him comparable, in many leagues, to players available on the waiver wire.
Gary Davenport: Start Justin Jefferson. The Vikings are going to have to throw to keep up with the Bills Monday night, and Buffalo has allowed the fifth-most PPR points per game to wide receivers this season.
Flex Stefon Diggs. His matchup with the Rams is as bad as Jefferson's is good this week. But the Washington passing game actually looked pretty solid last week against the Eagles, and odds are the Commanders will be playing from behind this week.
Hold Zay Flowers. Brissett's potential arrival hardly fixes all Baltimore's problems—this is a guy who just lost the starting job in Arizona to Gardner Mustache. But Brissett is exponentially better than the quarterbacks currently on the Ravens roster, so Flowers' fantasy value just got a 200 cc injection of hope.
Drop Tre Tucker. It's just a numbers game. We've seen Tucker have a couple of nice games this year, but we have also seen him post a goose egg on one target. Last week. Just can't keep him over the other three.
